I. Overview
Established in 2006, the Institute of Higher Education is engaged in higher education research and providing decision-making reference for school development. The institute currently has four faculty members, including one researcher with doctoral degree and three with master’s degree.
II. Working Mechanism
Acting on the principles of changing outdated ideas, formulating specific tasks and pursuing fruitful results, the Institute of Higher Education is positioned to carry out school-based research. Based on the teaching and management of JUFE, the institute takes advantage of higher education theory and advanced teaching and management experience to provide suggestions and solutions to JUFE.
III. Achievements
The institute has made remarkable achievements in school-based research and theoretical research. Up to now, it has completed 46 school-based research projects and its research outputs have been adopted by the schools and administrative departments of JUFE, playing a crucial role in the rapid development and scientific decision-making for JUFE. In terms of theoretical research, the institute has accomplished more than 51 projects above the provincial and ministerial level, published over 90 papers and 5 books as well as won the provincial first prize twice.
In order to keep pace with the latest trends in higher education at home and abroad, the institute regularly publishes Development Trends of Higher Education for JUFE leaders, schools and relevant departments.
The institute has hosted a number of significant events, such as Forum on Promoting the High-quality Development of Jiangxi Colleges and Universities, Lecture on the Construction of First-class Universities and Disciplines, Conference on the National Entrepreneurship Education for College Students, Seminar on National University Experimental and Practical Teaching, and Training for Backbone Teachers Engaged in Education and Teaching Reform Projects of Jiangxi Colleges and Universities.
It won the titles of National Excellent Higher Education Research Institution in 2008 and 2011 and “Advanced Unit for National Projects Declaration” in 2013.
