I. Overview

The Institute of Ecological Economics, formerly known as the Institute of Poyang Lake Eco-Economics, founded in August 2010, gained its current name in July 2017. As an interdisciplinary comprehensive research institute,it was specially established to meet the two major national strategic needs: the construction of the ecological civilization pilot demonstration zone and the national ecological civilization pilot zone. The institute has become a philosophy and social sciences key research base of Jiangxi province, humanities and social sciences key research base of Jiangxi colleges and universities, and Nanchang city.

II. Faculty

The institute currently has 79 faculty members, including 67 full-time teachers. Among them, there is one “National Leading Talent” in philosophy and social science and one excellent young talent of “the Ten Thousand Talent Program”, one expert with the special allowance of the People's Government of Jiangxi Province, two young Jinggang Scholars of Jiangxi province, two candidates of the Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents Project, etc.

III. Research Achievements

The institute has completed a total of more than 20 projects funded by the National Social Science Foundation of China and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, undertaken over 30 provincial and ministerial projects, published 30 plus books and more than 200 papers in academic journals at home and abroad and won over 20 outstanding achievement awards at the provincial and ministerial levels.

IV. Social Contributions

As a new think tank, the institute is committed to serving the decision-making of Jiangxi Provincial Government. It has accomplished more than 30 high-quality research reports and then published in core newspapers and journals, such as Achievements Collection of the National Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science of the Publicity Department, Expert Suggestions of the Department of Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, Report of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Internal Forum of Jiangxi Provincial Association of Social Sciences and Special News of Jiangxi Academy of Social Sciences. These reports have helped to promote the optimization of relevant policies and systems.
