July 6–13,The “Discover Jiangxi—2026 China-U.S. Youth Cultural Exchange Program” was successfully held in Nanchang, Jingdezhen, and Shangrao, Jiangxi Province. Fifteen young delegates from Utah and Texas, United States, participated in the program, gaining firsthand insights into China and learning about Jiangxi up close. Luo Hua, Vice Chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Youth Federation, and Yuan Honglin and He Danjun, Vice Presidents of JUFE, attended relevant events. The program was jointly organized by the Jiangxi Provincial Youth Federation and JUFE.

During the program, Chinese and American youth held multiple roundtable sessions on topics ranging from China’s outstanding traditional culture and AI-driven digital empowerment for youth to youth culture in film. They shared fresh perspectives, exchanged insights on development, and explored issues such as cultural preservation, technological innovation, and youth growth. Through dialogue and mutual learning, the participants deepened their understanding and built stronger consensus.

The American youth visited a wide range of sites—including JUFE, the Jiangxi Provincial Museum, the Pavilion of Prince Teng, the Nanchang Haihunhou Kingdom Ruins Museum, the Lin'en Tea Modern Urban Factory, and Jiangxi Lidu Liquor Co., Ltd.—to gain an in-depth understanding of Jiangxi's history, culture, urban development, industrial progress, and achievements in scientific and technological innovation.

In Jingdezhen, they toured the China Ceramics Museum, the Taoxichuan CHINA Plaza cultural and creative district, and Jingdezhen Hongye Ceramics Co., Ltd. There, they tried their hand at pottery techniques such as wheel throwing and underglaze painting, experiencing firsthand the dynamic integration of millennia-old ceramic heritage with modern creative industries.

In Wuyuan, the group explored Huangling, Jiangwan, and the historic Xian'gao Ancient City. They took part in intangible cultural heritage activities such as the fish lantern parade and the fire-pot performance, gaining a deeper appreciation for the charm of China's traditional culture and witnessing vivid examples of how traditional villages are being preserved and revitalized through rural cultural tourism.

During the program, Chinese and American youth took part in a variety of interactive activities, including ice-breaking games, a friendly basketball match, and a hands-on tea culture experience. Through joint learning, shared experiences, and open dialogue, they exchanged stories of personal growth and perspectives on each other’s cultures, steadily deepening mutual understanding and friendship.

The American participants noted that this journey to Jiangxi had given them a much more vivid and direct understanding of both the province and China as a whole. They expressed their eagerness to share what they had seen, learned, and felt with their families and friends back home.

The “Discover Jiangxi—2026 China-U.S. Youth Cultural Exchange Program” took youth exchange as its bridge and cultural immersion as its vehicle, creating a platform for Chinese and American youth to engage in mutual learning and deepen friendships. The program offered U.S. participants an up-close look at the vibrant local practices of Chinese modernization unfolding across Jiangxi, further enhancing mutual understanding and camaraderie between the younger generations of both nations. It stands as a vivid testament to the positive role of youth in advancing grassroots friendship and people-to-people exchanges between China and the United States.
