JUFE Signed a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with the Key Laboratory of Xinhua News Agency

On the afternoon of June 5, JUFE signed a framework agreement on strategic cooperation with the National Key Laboratory of Xinhua News Agency. Zhong Haoxi, Deputy Director of the laboratory, and Deng Hui, President of JUFE, attended the event and delivered speeches. Huang Yaoni, Director of the Domestic Cooperation Office, presided over the meeting.

In his speech, Deng Hui pointed out that adhering to the innovative philosophy of "empowering soft science with technology and serving national strategies with data", the National Key Laboratory of Xinhua News Agency serves as the much-needed strategic technological force for JUFE to build a first-class digital university of finance and economics, injecting new impetus into the transformation of the university's research paradigm and the upgrading of its think tank capabilities. He stressed that the signing marks not only a powerful combination of the two sides' technological strengths, but also an in-depth integration of research organization models and think tank development concepts. Going forward, leveraging the Xinhua Insight platform, both parties will focus on two core areas: global infrastructure situation awareness and critical mineral resources monitoring. They will steadily advance cooperation in six major aspects: building basic platform infrastructure, jointly developing data foundations, conducting joint research on key problems, establishing a laboratory for critical mineral resources, developing think tank platforms, and fostering interdisciplinary talents. The two sides will work together to safeguard national resource security as well as industrial and supply chain security, and jointly compose a new chapter featuring "technology empowerment, joint platform building and think tank leadership".

Zhong Haoxi spoke highly of JUFE's profound academic heritage and remarkable achievements in finance and economics disciplines, and commended its pragmatic efforts to seize opportunities in the digital economy and drive disciplinary transformation and upgrading via big data platforms. He introduced that as the first National key laboratory in the field of integrated media production approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the State Key Laboratory of Xinhua News Agency boasts full access to Xinhua's comprehensive data resources and enjoys national-level technological strengths in macro big data mining and spatio-temporal intelligent analysis. Its research directions are highly compatible with those of JUFE's research institutions such as the Institute of Regional and Country Studies and the Institute of Statustics. Against the backdrop of national strategic needs, he expressed the hope that both sides will follow the development priorities, improve long-term cooperation mechanisms and build collaborative innovation platforms. The two parties will further cooperate in big data-enabled scientific research, joint project research, talent training and achievement transformation. They will strive to deliver high-quality research outcomes supporting national macro decision-making, and contribute wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative and the global expansion of Chinese enterprises.

Deng Hui and Zhong Haoxi signed the framework agreement on strategic cooperation on behalf of the two sides. The participants conducted in-depth discussions on the cooperation content.

Prior to the signing symposium, Zhong Haoxi and his delegation visited the Data Research Platform for Contemporary Statustics Studies in China, as well as the Platform for Macroeconomic Monitoring, Forecasting and Policy Evaluation Analysis of China.
