Recently, Professor Li Hongyi published a paper in Nature for the first time as a corresponding author institution, warning of the risk chain of "energy crisis—fertilizer shortage—food security."

The study provides a profound and compelling analysis of food security issues by integrating the current global energy crisis and fertilizer shortages. It offers governance recommendations for the coordinated management of global energy, fertilizers, and food security, demonstrating the capability of related disciplines to serve national missions such as ensuring food security and global governance initiatives. The research was jointly conducted by scholars from multiple institutions in China and Canada..The first author of the paper, Dr. Yang Meihua, is a postdoctoral researcher supervised by Professor Li Hongyi. The co-corresponding authors are Professor Li Hongyi and Professor Asim Biswas from the University of Guelph in Canada (Young Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, visiting professor at JUFE, and the Canadian lead of the first scientific research international cooperation team, "Big Data for Cultivated Land Quality Monitoring and Grid-based Refined Management").
