On April 1, the "Frontline Observation" column of Jiangxi Daily published an article titled "The World at the Doorstep: The Breakthrough Practice of 'Gan Products Going Global' in Yichun." The article provided a detailed report on the practical exploration and developmental insights of the "Gan Products Going Global" initiative in Yichun, Jiangxi. Liu Jian, Dean of the School of International Economics and Politics at JUFE, offered an in-depth analysis and strategic recommendations under the title "The Yichun Practice of Inland Enterprises 'Going Global'."

Regarding the practical exploration of the "Gan Products Going Global" initiative in Yichun, Liu Jian noted that it serves as a vivid example of inland regions transitioning from passive breakthroughs to proactive planning under market pressure and policy incentives. This shift aligns closely with the national strategy of high-level opening-up.

The article highlighted that Yichun enterprises have undergone a rational awakening to counter "internal competition," moving from "fear of going global" to "determination to go global." For instance, Yuanyang Group and Jinhu Group shifted from relying on agents to building their own foreign trade teams, reflecting a strategic pivot. Meanwhile, Meida Group's initial setbacks in the European market due to insufficient understanding of its standards underscored the necessity of overcoming the "learning curve" and precisely adapting to the rules of target markets.

Government support, described as "giving a helping hand and sending them on their way," has precisely addressed the pain points of enterprises. This includes organizing collective participation in exhibitions, addressing gaps in rail-sea intermodal transport, and resolving challenges related to talent and certification. These efforts align with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Commerce and four other departments to establish a comprehensive overseas service system.

The diverse approaches to "going global," likened to "the Eight Immortals crossing the sea," reflect a trend transitioning from product export to ecosystem expansion. The 2026 Government Work Report explicitly calls for "guiding the rational and orderly cross-border layout of industrial and supply chains," a direction that Yichun enterprises are already putting into practice.

Looking ahead, Liu Jian emphasized that aligning with national strategies leaves room for further deepening the "Gan Products Going Global" initiative. He suggested leveraging the benefits of mechanisms such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the Belt and Road Initiative, adopting the "cross-border e-commerce + industrial cluster" model, accelerating the establishment of a comprehensive "one-stop" overseas service system, and tapping into new growth opportunities in emerging markets like ASEAN and the Middle East. This, he believes, will enable "Gan Products Going Global" to achieve even greater successes.
