International Communication Talent Training Camp in the Integrated Media Era Successfully Launched

To cultivate interdisciplinary international communication talents with global perspectives, skills in converged media, and cross-cultural communication abilities, the "International Communication Talent Training Camp in the Intergrated Media Era," jointly organized by the Jiangxi International Communication Center and the School of Foreign Languages at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, officially commenced on the morning of January 5. The program has attracted 32 Chinese and international graduate and undergraduate students from six majors, including English Translation, Business English, Public Administration, Finance, and International Business.

Attending the opening ceremony were Zhang Jing, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Jiangxi Daily and Director of the Jiangxi International Communication Center, and Que Shandong, Vice President of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics. Also present were Zheng Ying, Executive Deputy Director of the Jiangxi International Communication Center, Qi Meiyu, Deputy Director of the Center, representatives from the Graduate School and the School of Foreign Languages at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, the administrative leadership of the School of Foreign Languages, all participants of the training camp, and the school’s international communication research team. The ceremony was presided over by Du Jingping, Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Languages.

Amid warm applause, Zhang Jing and Que Shandong jointly unveiled the plaque for the training camp, marking the official launch of this university-enterprise collaborative initiative dedicated to nurturing future talents in international communication.

In his address, Que Shandong introduced JUFE's three major strategic transformations and its achievements in talent cultivation. He emphasized that the School of Foreign Languages is actively advancing a strategic shift from "language-focused teaching" to "language-empowered communication," breaking down disciplinary barriers and striving to cultivate international communication professionals who are not only proficient in foreign languages but also possess subject expertise and mastery of integrated media technologies. He raised four expectations for the participants: first, to keep the nation’s overarching interests in mind, ground themselves in the richness of Chinese civilization, and solidify the foundation for international communication; second, to master "new media skills," adeptly utilizing cutting-edge converged media technologies to innovate forms of expression; third, to uphold the "principle of harmony," promoting cultural exchange and mutual learning, and serving as bridges for cross-cultural dialogue; fourth, to immerse themselves in the "vibrant land of Jiangxi," vividly narrating Jiangxi’s stories to ensure that local narratives shine with contemporary relevance and resonate on the global stage.

In her speech, Zhang Jing highlighted that in the era of integrated media, international communication has become a "symphony of cross-cultural dialogue." China’s voice and Jiangxi’s stories, she noted, need to be heard, understood, and appreciated by the world. The training camp will adopt a model combining "real-world practice and inspirational lectures," leveraging real cases, cutting-edge theories, and advanced technologies to comprehensively enhance participants’ practical international communication capabilities. She expressed three expectations for the trainees: first, to "dive deep" into cases and practice, fostering intellectual engagement and honing their skills through authentic tasks, fast-paced environments, and multi-dimensional evaluations; second, to "dig into" communication challenges and strategies, striving not merely to "complete" tasks but to "excel" in them; third, to "integrate into" the audience’s context and emotions, becoming communicators with warmth and digital sensibility who use language familiar to the world to present a true, multi-dimensional, and comprehensive China.

Wu Huaqin, a 2025 master’s student in English Translation, delivered a speech as a participant representative, sharing her aspirations and reflections as a foreign language student committed to contributing to the field of international communication.
