Delegation from Lancaster University Visits JUFE

On December 29, a delegation from Lancaster University Management School in the UK, including Professor George Wang and Professor Chelsea Yao, visited JUFE. Vice President Yuan Honglin met with the guests, and the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on deepening project cooperation and expanding academic exchange platforms.

Yuan Honglin extended a warm welcome to Professor George Wang and Professor Chelsea Yao for their first visit and reviewed the development of cooperation between the two universities. He highlighted JUFE's educational history, disciplinary strengths, and achievements in internationalization, affirming the positive role of bilateral cooperation in promoting cultural exchanges between China and the UK. Yuan Honglin emphasized that JUFE highly values its partnership with Lancaster University and expressed hope to expand substantive cooperation from the existing student joint training programs to areas such as faculty exchanges, research collaboration, and joint laboratory construction, thereby elevating bilateral cooperation to a higher level. Following the meeting, both sides held a specialized working session at the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, where they engaged in practical discussions on specific details such as curriculum alignment, credit recognition, and implementation mechanisms for student cooperation programs.

Professor George Wang and Professor Chelsea Yao spoke highly of JUFE's educational achievements and progress in internationalization. They expressed Lancaster University's willingness to leverage its strengths in disciplines such as accounting and finance to explore more diverse and in-depth cooperation models with JUFE, continuously strengthen mutual trust, and solidly advance the implementation of cooperation projects.

During the visit, Professor George Wang conducted a special information session for our students, providing a detailed introduction to Lancaster University's educational features, study abroad experiences, and the career advantages of its graduates in the international workplace.

Professor Chelsea Yao was invited to deliver an academic lecture titled “Frontier Developments in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and Applications of Text Analysis” for faculty and students from the School of Accounting and the School of Finance. The lecture featured active interactions and lively discussions, broadening the research perspectives of our faculty and students in the field of ESG and laying a solid foundation for deeper cooperation between the two universities in related disciplines.

This visit further strengthened the friendly relations between the two universities, building consensus and broadening prospects for future in-depth exchanges.
