JUFE Appoints Professor e Maosong as Dean of the Institute of Humanities, Economics and National Strategy

On the afternoon of December 12, the appointment ceremony for the dean of the JUFE's Institute of Humanities, Economics and National Strategy was held at the Beijing Advanced Research Initiative. Liu Yaobin, Secretary of JUFE Party Committee, attended the ceremony and presented the appointment letter to Professor Xie Maosong, Director of the Professional Committee on Chinese Civilization and Chinese Path of the China National Innovation and Development Strategy Research Association. Responsible persons from the Scientific Research Department and the Domestic Cooperation Department participated in the ceremony, which was hosted by Huang Yaoni, Director of the Domestic Cooperation Department.

In his speech, Liu Yaobin introduced JUFE's efforts in building an independent knowledge system in fields such as Contemporary Chinese National Power Studies and Chinese Ecological Economics. He pointed out that the establishment of the Institute of Humanities, Economics and National Strategy of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics is an important practice in responding to the call of General Secretary Xi Jinping. He expressed sincere gratitude to Professor Xie Maosong for joining the university and put forward three expectations: first, hoping that the institute will enter the ranks of national high-end think tanks when conditions are ripe; second, expecting Professor Xie to lead the team to secure the approval of major projects of the National Social Science Fund; third, expecting Professor Xie to take the lead in integrating research forces inside and outside JUFE, form an interdisciplinary frontier research team, and construct an independent knowledge system of humanities economics based on Chinese civilization.

In the speech session as the appointee, Professor Xie Maosong delivered sincere remarks. He shared his persistent pursuit of research in the field of humanities economics, expressed his profound feelings for education, and showed firm confidence in leading the institute to vigorous development, which won warm applause from the audience.

On behalf of JUFE, Huang Yaoni extended a warm welcome to Professor Xie Maosong's joining. She pointed out that the establishment of the Institute of Humanities, Economics and National Strategy is a key measure for JUFE to respond to national strategic needs, optimize the discipline layout, and enhance scientific research and innovation capabilities. Professor Xie Maosong has worked deeply in the fields related to humanities economics and national strategy for many years, with profound academic attainments, rich practical experience and extensive social influence. His joining will inject new vitality into JUFE's "Double First-Class" construction.
