Provincial First! JUFE's Overseas Master's Degree Program Successfully Launches

On December 14th, the overseas cooperative education program (Master of International Business - Cross-border E-commerce) jointly launched by JUFE and the Royal Academy of Cambodia successfully commenced at the Royal Academy of Cambodia (Phnom Penh). This marks a zero breakthrough for Jiangxi Province in master's-level offshore educational programs. It is a significant achievement of Jiangxi's "Education Going Global" initiative and represents JUFE's first overseas degree-granting program. The program establishes a new platform for advancing talent co-cultivation, regional and country studies, and enhancing international communication effectiveness.

Professor Yuan Honglin, Vice President of JJUFE (attending online), Sok Touch, President of the Royal Academy of Cambodia, Ky Sereyvath, Director of the Chinese Studies Institute, Professor Wu Zhaoyang, Dean of the Institute of Area Studies, and other representatives from both sides attended the ceremony. The inaugural cohort of students and faculty representatives from relevant departments of the Royal Academy of Cambodia witnessed the launch event.

Yuan Honglin noted that this cooperation is not only a vivid reflection of the friendly China-Cambodia relations, people-to-people bonds, and cultural integration but also a major breakthrough in JUFE's internationalization strategy, transitioning from "domestic" to "overseas." He emphasized that against the backdrop of rapid global digital economic development and the deepening implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, this program will leverage the disciplinary strengths of both universities. Focusing on cross-border e-commerce and digital trade, it aims to cultivate compound international talents capable of adapting to future economic landscapes, injecting new momentum into promoting China-Cambodia economic, trade, and cultural exchanges. He encouraged students to cherish the learning opportunity, strive to become bridge talents with professional competence and an international perspective, and contribute youthful energy to educational exchanges and regional economic development for both nations.

In his address, Sok Touch stated that this cooperation represents a key achievement in deepening educational and scientific research collaboration between Cambodia and China. As Cambodia's first Master of International Business program, it marks a crucial step for the Royal Academy of Cambodia in advancing its international talent cultivation strategy. He expressed anticipation that the program would cultivate more high-level professionals with digital trade capabilities and a global vision for Cambodia and the ASEAN region, contributing to regional economic integration and sustainable development.

Wu Zhaoyang remarked that the program is a significant outcome of years of sustained communication and joint efforts between the two institutions. This launch is merely the starting point of their collaboration. Both sides will build upon this foundation to further strengthen cooperation in establishing joint research centers, regional and country studies, and talent cultivation. Ky Sereyvath accepted an interview with local media, further elaborating on the program's establishment background, training objectives, and social significance. He expressed optimism regarding the prospects of educational cooperation between the two countries, hoping to develop the program into a model of collaboration and promote China-Cambodia higher education cooperation to deeper levels and broader fields.

Following the opening ceremony, Professor Ye Weihua from JUFE delivered the first lecture, "Introduction to China," to the inaugural Cambodian student cohort, marking the full commencement of the program's teaching activities. The curriculum integrates international business theory with cross-border e-commerce practice, highlighting features of the digital economy. Subsequently, program students will be organized to participate in short-term study trips and corporate internships in China.

The successful launch of this Master of International Business offshore program with the Royal Academy of Cambodia is not only a crucial milestone in the cooperation between JUFE and the Royal Academy of Cambodia but also sets a new benchmark for collaborative development in higher education between China and Cambodia. Moving forward, both sides will continue to deepen cooperation, jointly building a high-level international education collaboration platform that integrates knowledge transfer, capacity building, and mutual learning among civilizations, contributing JUFE's strength to forging a closer China-Cambodia community with a shared future.
