Yu Wenxin Awarded the Honorary Title of “Jiangxi Provincial Red Cross Boai (Fraternity) Ambassador”

On December 3, the Ninth Members’ Congress of the Red Cross Society of Jiangxi Branch opened in Nanchang. Yin Hong, Secretary of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee, attended and delivered a speech. He expressed the hope that Red Cross organizations at all levels across the province, together with Red Cross workers, members, and volunteers, will thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on Red Cross work, vigorously carry forward the Red Cross spirit of “humanity, fraternity, and dedication,” stay focused on their core responsibilities and main tasks, enhance humanitarian service capacity, and promote the high-quality development of the Red Cross cause in Jiangxi in the new era.

At the Ninth Members’ Congress held on December 3, in order to commend exemplary individuals and organizations, set role models, and encourage broader participation in Red Cross initiatives, the Red Cross Society of Jiangxi Province issued the Decision on Commending Jiangxi Provincial Red Cross Boai Units and Boai Ambassadors. Yu Wenxin, a student from our university, was awarded the honorary title of “Jiangxi Provincial Red Cross Boai Ambassador.”

Yu Wenxin is a veteran and an honored hematopoietic stem cell donor. Integrating the sense of duty and commitment forged through military service with the Red Cross spirit of fraternity, he has long devoted himself to Red Cross public-welfare activities. A presentation piece he co-created with fellow student Li Meihua—Lighting Up Hope for Life, Let Love Follow in “Marrow”—won first prize in Jiangxi Province’s “Red Cross Stories” public-speaking competition, distinguished by sincere emotion, a moving narrative, and profound meaning.

The Red Cross spirit of “humanity, fraternity, and dedication” guides humanitarian efforts around the world. This honor bestowed upon Yu Wenxin is not only a high recognition of his selfless contribution, but also a vivid demonstration of our university’s commitment to fostering virtue through education and cultivating students’ sense of social responsibility. Yu Wenxin said he will cherish the honor, play an exemplary role, and motivate more young people to learn about, support, and take part in Red Cross causes.

At the Ninth Members’ Congress of the Red Cross Society of Jiangxi Province, Yu Wenxin was also elected as an Executive Council Member (Standing Director) of the Red Cross Society of Jiangxi Province, and Wang Hao, Secretary of the University Youth League Committee, was elected as a Council Member. Moving forward, our university will further deepen and enrich volunteer service, promote the volunteer spirit of “dedication, friendship, mutual assistance, and progress,” and—by expanding platforms and diversifying forms of engagement—guide more young students to strengthen their abilities and fulfill their responsibilities through serving society. In doing so, we will support the development of the Red Cross cause in Jiangxi with concrete actions and showcase the pragmatism and public-spirited commitment of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics youth.
