On the afternoon of October 29, 2025, the School of Software and IoT Engineering successfully held its 2025 Study Abroad Exchange Meeting in Classroom D101 of the Student Activity Center. Attendees included Fang Yuming, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President; William Song, Head of Cooperative Education Programs; Ji Xiaogang, Party Secretary of the School; Mao Chengying, Vice Dean; Liu Yanqing, Director of the School's International Software Engineering Department; and faculty and students from the China-Switzerland Program cohorts of 2023-2025. The meeting was chaired by Party Secretary Ji Xiaogang.

During the meeting, Vice President Fang Yuming delivered a keynote speech titled "Artificial Intelligence and the Next Industrial Revolution." He systematically outlined the development trajectory of AI and breakthroughs in large-model technology, while elaborating on the new demands these advancements place on international talent. He particularly emphasized that mathematics serves as the cornerstone of artificial intelligence, while English is the essential tool for global academic exchange and overseas studies. He encouraged students to strengthen their mathematical and scientific foundations, enhance their language proficiency, and proactively adapt to cross-cultural environments, achieving the transition from "going out" to "integrating in."

Professor William Song from Dalarna University provided a comprehensive overview of the institution's study abroad programs, covering curriculum design, employment policies, living conditions, and application procedures. He highlighted that Dalarna University students possess strong competitiveness in fields such as information systems and data analysis. Sweden's work permit policies and corporate partnerships offer robust employment support for graduates. Professor Song also conducted an in-depth analysis of course articulation and financial planning. During the Q&A session, he actively addressed student inquiries, fostering a lively and engaging atmosphere.

This exchange meeting not only provided authoritative and detailed study abroad information for students in the China-Sweden Program but also built a direct communication bridge between faculty, students, and overseas institutions. The college will leverage this exchange to further deepen cooperation with Dalarna University, optimize the talent development program for the China-Sweden Class, strengthen foundational disciplines like mathematics and English, and introduce cross-cultural adaptation courses. These efforts aim to create a superior international learning platform, empowering students to grow into versatile professionals with both specialized expertise and global perspectives.
