Mayor Gao Shiwen of Nanchang City Visits JUFE for Research and Investigation

On October 12, Gao Shiwen, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nanchang Municipal Committee and Mayor of Nanchang City, led a team to JUFE to conduct research on deepening university-local cooperation and promoting the transformation of teachers' core technological achievements. Liu Yaobin, Secretary of JUFE Party Committee, and Fang Yuming, Vice President of JUFE, attended the event.

Gao Shiwen visited the Engineering Research Center of Financial Big Data under the Ministry of Education, where he listened to briefings on JUFE's digital transformation strategy and the transformation of scientific research achievements. He expressed the hope that the center will continue to adhere to its goal of "leading technological innovation, supporting financial and economic applications, cultivating data talents, and promoting industrial development", align with Nanchang's "8810" Action Plan, strive to make new breakthroughs in key research areas such as basic algorithms, analytical technologies, and decision optimization of financial big data, and contribute to the development of Nanchang's digital economy.

At the Modern Industry College of Virtual Reality (VR), Gao Shiwen affirmed the college's talent cultivation model for in-depth integration of industry and education. This model features "M+N" two-stage connectivity and full coverage for all students throughout the process, with carriers including "project-based courses + industry-education integration classes + university/enterprise studios + joint R&D centers". He hoped the college will continuously improve its academic competition results, scientific and technological innovation capabilities, and social service capabilities, so as to supply outstanding talents for the development of Nanchang's digital industries such as VR, AI, and digital transformation.

Upon visiting the Collaborative Innovation Center for Financial Data Science of JUFE, Gao Shiwen gained a detailed understanding of the center’s key laboratory construction, talent cultivation, and achievement transformation. He encouraged the laboratory to adhere to the orientation of "conducting useful digital and intelligent finance research and organized scientific research", focus on the core mission of serving the national macroeconomic governance, and continue to advance the construction of the scientific research innovation system to contribute to the high-quality development of local economy and society. He requested the relevant municipal departments to proactively strengthen communication with the university, enhance policy supply and factor guarantee, and provide all-round support for deepening cooperation between the city and the university; in particular, the Municipal Future Industry Task Force should strengthen in-depth cooperation with universities and strive to facilitate the transformation and implementation of more cutting-edge technological research achievements in Nanchang.

Liu Yaobin gave a detailed introduction to the JUFE's basic situation. He stated that JUFE has set its goal of becoming a university with "world-class disciplines", is striving to embark on a new journey of the "Third Entrepreneurship", and is opening up new development space through digitalization, greenization, and internationalization. It is accelerating the construction of a high-level research university, a first-class digital finance and economics university, and a benchmark university serving Jiangxi through quality reform, efficiency reform, and momentum reform, achieving remarkable results. He emphasized that the university has always attached great importance to cooperation with Nanchang City, and will proactively strengthen communication and connection with the Municipal Future Industry Task Force and relevant municipal departments to jointly explore new mechanisms and models for city-university cooperation. The university looks forward to obtaining more support in terms of policy supply, factor guarantee, and the transformation and implementation of achievements, promoting the transformation and application of more cutting-edge technological research and innovative achievements in Nanchang, and contributing "JUFE Wisdom" and "JUFE Strength" to Nanchang's efforts to build a regional highland for digital economy development and an innovation hub for future industries.
