On September 23, a delegation from Griffith University, Australia, visited JUFE and convened the first management committee meeting for the Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics-Griffith Digital Intelligence School. Vice President Yuan Honglin met with the delegation. The meeting was attended by Griffith University Vice-Chancellor Marnie Watson, Faculty of Science Academic Dean Rosalind Archer, School of Information and Communication Technology Dean Alan Liew, International Department Greater China Regional Marketing Director Jennifer, as well as relevant heads from JUFE’s School of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence and the Digital Intelligence School. The meeting was chaired by Yuan Honglin.
Yuan Honglin extended a warm welcome to the Griffith University delegation and briefly reviewed and summarized the exchanges and cooperation between the two universities. He emphasized that JUFE attaches great importance to educational collaboration with Griffith University. The newly approved Digital Intelligence School represents a "breakthrough" in having no Sino-foreign cooperatively-run school in Jiangxi's higher education sector. He expressed hope that, by leveraging the Digital Intelligence School, the two universities would integrate high-quality resources, boldly reform and innovate, and strive to build it into a new growth point for JUFE's development, a demonstration zone for cultivating international talents, and a Jiangxi model for local universities engaging in international education.
Marnie Watson expressed gratitude to the staff from both universities who contributed to the application for the Sino-foreign cooperatively-run institution. She noted that as Griffith University celebrates its 50th anniversary, the establishment of the Digital Intelligence School aligns with Griffith University's development plans and reflects the sustainable development insight upheld by both China and Australia. Griffith University will fully support the subsequent development of the project and looks forward to further deepening cooperation between the two universities.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed and approved the new list of members for the Joint Management Committee. Representatives also exchanged views and discussed matters related to the teaching plans and student enrollment of the Intelligent Digital Intelligence School.
The successful convening of this meeting not only strengthened the friendship between the two universities but also laid a more solid foundation for future cooperation. Both sides expressed their commitment to further deepening collaboration in areas such as high-level talent cultivation, scientific research exchanges, and the construction of international research platforms, aiming to achieve even greater results.
