On September 22nd, a delegation led by Craig Blyth, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Coventry University in the United Kingdom, paid a visit to JUFE. Vice President Xie Hualin met with the guests, and the two parties held in-depth discussions on deepening cooperation and expanding areas of exchange.
Xie Hualin extended a warm welcome to Vice Chancellor Craig Blyth on his first visit and reviewed the fruitful achievements made by the two universities since the establishment of their cooperative partnership in 2005. He focused on introducing JUFE's educational history, disciplinary characteristics, and achievements in international development, and fully affirmed the positive role played by the Confucius Institute co-founded by the two parties in promoting cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and the United Kingdom. Xie Hualin pointed out that our university attaches great importance to its long-term cooperation with Coventry University and hopes to take the 10th anniversary of the co-founded Confucius Institute as an opportunity to further expand practical cooperation in areas such as talent cultivation, scientific research, and the co-establishment of joint laboratories, so as to push the relationship between the two universities to a higher level.
Craig Blyth highly praised JUFE for its achievements in running the university and its progress in international development, and expressed appreciation for the effectiveness of the Confucius Institute co-founded by the two universities. He stated that Coventry University will give full play to its professional advantages in disciplines such as sociology and management, explore more diverse and in-depth cooperation models together with JUFE, continuously consolidate the foundation of mutual trust, and work hand in hand to promote the implementation of substantive projects.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the Kewenbo Museum and the No. 3 Teaching Building of our university, and highly praised JUFE's modern teaching facilities and profound cultural heritage.
During the visit, Craig Blyth was also invited to give an exchange lecture on the theme of global education for teachers and students of our university. The on-site atmosphere was enthusiastic with active interactions.
This visit has further consolidated the 20-year cooperative friendship between the two universities, built consensus for deepening exchanges in the future, and broadened the prospects for cooperation.
