On the afternoon of November 21st, Liu Qinglin, Vice President of Chinese Poetry Society, was invited to give a lecture at JUFE. Titled "Strength and Methods in Poetry", the lecture offered a unique special session on fine traditional Chinese culture to JUFE's teachers and students. The event was hosted by Li Chungen.

Li Chungen pointed out that since its establishment in June 2024, JUFE's Center for Education and Communication of Fine Traditional Chinese Culture has closely focused on the main line of studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Culture. It has integrated promoting fine traditional Chinese culture with popularizing the national language, solidly advanced the construction of "one museum, one garden, one base, and one course", and systematically carried out cultural activities such as classic reading/writing/speaking events, book report meetings, and the New Liberal Arts Lecture Hall. These efforts have brought traditional culture to life in the new era. Since the start of this year, the center has further deepened education and teaching reforms, promoted the all-round integration of fine traditional Chinese culture into the talent cultivation system, and achieved solid results in cultural inheritance and innovation. As a renowned figure in the field, Liu Qinglin boasts profound attainments and remarkable achievements in Chinese poetry creation and research. His visit has added a brilliant chapter to JUFE's New Liberal Arts Lecture Hall.

During the lecture, Liu Qinglin expounded on the strength and methods of poetry through his insights into poetic images and artistic conceptions. He emphasized that strength and methods are crucial in any era and field: method refers to rules and inherent laws, and strength lies in the appeal of love and beauty. He also explained the essence of poetry, the role of a poet, the concept of poetic thinking, and how to cultivate such thinking. His views are highly aligned with JUFE's goal of "cultivating talents with both humanistic literacy and quality", sparking enthusiastic discussions among the audience.

Additionally, Liu Qinglin highlighted the significance of the era's background, family-country feelings, and the people's perspective in poetry creation. He mentioned that the magazine "Chinese Poetry" holds an annual Youth Poetry Festival, focusing on nurturing young poetry lovers and encouraging them to submit works. He expressed his expectation to jointly promote and disseminate fine traditional Chinese culture with JUFE students in the future. Many students raised questions to Mr. Liu and said they gained great inspiration and benefits from the lecture.
In her summary, Hong Lumin, Vice Dean of the School of Sociology and Humanities, noted that the lecture clarified the core essence and progressive path of poetry creation, outlining a poetic roadmap from mastering rules to stimulating creativity. It provides extremely valuable guidance for poetry writing. She stated that inspired by Mr. Liu, JUFE's teachers and students will lay a solid foundation through "methods" with diligent study and practice, draw nourishment from "strength" to cultivate morality and encourage themselves, and break through in thinking to pursue innovation and change.
