On the morning of March 14, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation framework agreement between JUFE and Department of Civil Affairs of Jiangxi Province, along with the unveiling ceremony of the "Jiangxi Institute of Aging Development", was held at JUFE. It will further implement the national strategy of actively responding to population aging, strengthen research on aging-related issues, think tank development, and talent cultivation, promoting the high-quality development of aging-related initiatives across the province.

Li Mingsheng, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of Department of Civil Affairs of Jiangxi Province, and Liu Yaobin, Chairman of the JUFE, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. They jointly unveiled the "Jiangxi Institute of Aging Development," a collaborative initiative between the provincial department and JUFE. Huang Yongmao, Party Group Member and Deputy Director of Department of Civil Affairs of Jiangxi Province, and Que Shandong, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of JUFE, signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement on behalf of both parties. Yuan Honglin, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of JUFE, also attended the ceremony.

Liu Yaobin extended a warm welcome and gratitude to the civil affairs leaders. He briefly introduced JUFE's development progress and the construction of its sociology and social work disciplines. Liu emphasized that JUFE is committed to advancing the "Three Transformations and Three Transitions" and hopes to strengthen cooperation with them through this platform to facilitate resource sharing and complementary advantages. JUFE will seize this opportunity to focus on aging research, striving to establish JUFE as a vital scientific research base and frontier outpost that "serves Jiangxi province." He expressed expectations for joint efforts to explore new pathways and create innovative models, contributing to building a higher-quality, sustainable, and warmer aging-friendly society.

Li Mingsheng highlighted that civil affairs is closely tied to people's livelihoods and public welfare, with aging-related initiatives being a top priority for the Party Central Committee and the State Council. He acknowledged that the achievements of the provincial civil affairs system owe much to JUFE's support. The signing of the strategic cooperation agreement represents a significant step in exploring new models and pathways for government-university collaboration in the new era. This partnership holds great importance for advancing civil affairs, aging-related work, and the development of humanities and social sciences. Li outlined three expectations for future cooperation: establishing a communication mechanism, focusing on key objectives to yield more outcomes, and strengthening publicity to build a Jiangxi brand for government-university collaboration. He expressed confidence that joint efforts would lead to fruitful results in aging research, social governance innovation, and talent cultivation, further contributing to the national strategy on aging.

Building on previous collaborations, both parties will deepen cooperation through the "Jiangxi Institute of Aging Development." The institute aims to build a high-level research team to cultivate specialized talent, creating new platforms for JUFE's sociology doctoral programs. They will prioritize research on aging populations and societies, leveraging practical investigations and theoretical studies to advance key areas such as the silver-haired economy, social participation of the elderly, age-friendly community development, innovative elderly care models, smart aging technologies, and elderly social security systems. These efforts will fulfill the expectations of the nation and the people for university teaching and research to serve society.

Relevant leaders and faculty and student representatives also attended the ceremony.
