On December 15, the 2024 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application was successfully held in Nanchang, Jiangxi. The conference was hosted by the School of Computing and Artificial Intelligence and the CCF (Nanchang), with the Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence Special Committee of the Jiangxi High-Level Talents Association as a co-organizer. It brought together top experts, scholars, and industry representatives from both domestic and international backgrounds to engage in extensive and in-depth discussions on "Next-Generation Artificial Intelligence Technologies and Applications," injecting new vitality into the high-quality development of international industry-academia-research cooperation. During the opening ceremony, President Deng Hui delivered a warm speech, welcoming the guests and expressing a strong commitment to international collaboration. The conference was chaired by Professor Fang Yuming, the Vice President, with over 260 participants in attendance.
The conference invited experts and scholars from renowned universities both domestically and internationally, including Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Griffith University in Australia, National Taiwan University, University of Nantes in France, and City University of Hong Kong. They delivered highly forward-looking keynote reports, covering the latest achievements in areas such as fundamental research in artificial intelligence, green computing, medical diagnostic applications, development of large-scale models, and multimodal model research.
During the academic reporting session, several experts shared their latest research findings and practical experiences. Professor Yonggang Wen from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore presented his report titled "AI and Digital Infrastructure for a Sustainable Future: A Tale of Twin Transition," discussing the dual transformation pathways for achieving digitalization and sustainable development against the backdrop of rapid advancements in artificial intelligence. Professor Weisi Lin, also from Nanyang Technological University, delivered a report on "Green and Economical Deployment of Large AI Models," focusing on strategies for the green and efficient deployment of large models, offering new ideas for promoting sustainable development in artificial intelligence. Professor Alan Wee-Chung Liew from Griffith University in Australia, Professor Wen-Huang Cheng from National Taiwan University, Professor Patrick Le Callet from University of Nantes in France, Dr. Kede Ma from City University of Hong Kong, and Dr. Leo Zhang from Griffith University, respectively shared the latest research progress on the applications of artificial intelligence in fields such as medical diagnosis, multimodal models, video streaming optimization, and HDR image processing. These reports provided the attendees with rich academic insights and showcased the vast potential of artificial intelligence technologies and their applications.
The conference also organized an international cooperation and exchange seminar between JUFE and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. It invited Professor Yonggang Wen, the Vice Dean of the Graduate School (former Vice President), and Professor Weisi Lin, the Associate Dean of the School of Computer and Data Science, to participate. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as selecting top undergraduate talents, establishing international joint laboratories, visiting studies for PhD students and young teachers, and research collaboration, reaching a broad consensus.
During the seminar, Professor Wen and Professor Lin expressed their strong support for the cooperation and provided detailed explanations on specific implementation details. The meeting resulted in significant progress, laying a solid foundation for the smooth advancement of future work. This series of initiatives marks a new level of cooperation between JUFE and world-class institutions, injecting new momentum into promoting international academic exchange and innovative talent development.
Since 2018, the conference has been successfully held five times, achieving significant results in promoting industrial technology innovation and enhancing the level of international academic cooperation. This conference provided a high-level, open, and mutually beneficial communication platform for universities, research institutions, and businesses by sharing cutting-edge research findings and promoting international collaboration. JUFE will continue to strengthen international cooperation, leveraging its advantages in fields such as artificial intelligence, and join hands with top global universities and research institutions to promote the deep integration of industry, academia, and research, contributing to global sustainable development and the flourishing of the digital economy.
