On November 5, the establishment ceremony for the Jiangxi Provincial Fencing Team was held at JUFE. Li Xiaobin, Director of the The Jiangxi Province Sports Bureau, and Liu Yaobin, Chairman of JUFE, attended the ceremony and they jointly unveiled the Jiangxi Provincial Fencing Team, marking the official establishment of the team at JUFE.
Before the establishment ceremony, Li Xiaoping and Liu Yaobin listened to the reports from the Chinese martial arts Administrative Center of Jiangxi Province, the School of Sports at JUFE, and the Jiangxi Provincial Fencing Association regarding the preparations for the Jiangxi Provincial Fencing Team. They inspected the training facilities of the Jiangxi Provincial Fencing Team, observed the training sessions, and had friendly conversations with the fencers. Li Xiaoping emphasized that the Jiangxi Provincial Fencing Team should focus on long-term development and create a team development plan based on two cycles of the National Games. He also stressed the importance of nurturing local talent in Jiangxi by establishing a sound reserve talent training system, using the Provincial Games as a guiding force to encourage grassroots initiatives in cultivating fencing talent. Additionally, he urged the team to develop training plans that utilize information technology to enhance the scientific training level, leverage the advantages of JUFE, and conduct research on digital training to promote the digital transformation of the school through technology assistance. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of integrating sports and education, linking with national team resources, and introducing social resources to achieve high-quality development of fencing in Jiangxi under the leadership of JUFE. Li Xiaoping encouraged continued efforts to explore channels for recruiting high-level coaches, fully utilize sports and education integration policies, recruit high-level athletes, continuously strengthen the team’s capabilities, and swiftly improve competitive performance to help cultivate high-quality sports programs at JUFE.
Liu Yaobin pointed out that popularizing fencing and enhancing students' skill levels is beneficial for improving their physical fitness and has significant practical implications for promoting the development of students' individual strengths and specialties. He hopes that the government, schools, and society can work together to create a talent training base, jointly laying a solid foundation for the development of fencing in Jiangxi.
It is reported that the Jiangxi Provincial Fencing Team consists of one team leader, three coaches, one assistant coach, one rehabilitation support staff member, and ten athletes. The fencing team has excellent training facilities, including a 1,500 square meter fencing hall and a 400 square meter strength training room. Preparations for winter training are also being planned in anticipation of the National Games. Xu Xuchuan, Dean of the School of Sports at JUFE, stated that the three parties will continue to broaden their channels, focusing on recruiting high-level coaches and fully utilizing sports education integration policies to attract high-level athletes, thereby enhancing the team's strength and performance and jointly promoting the rapid development of fencing in our province.
During the establishment ceremony, the Chinese martial arts Administrative Center of Jiangxi Province, the School of Sports at JUFE, and the Jiangxi Provincial Fencing Association signed a "Tripartite Cooperation Framework Agreement for the Joint Development of Jiangxi Provincial Fencing Frontline Teams."
