Jufe's statistics discipline has entered the top 7% of China's best soft science disciplines in 2024

Recently, the 2024 ranking of the best disciplines in Soft Science China was released, and our school's statistics discipline entered the top 7%, ranking 7th in the country, up 3 places from last year.

The ranking list includes 94 first level disciplines, and the objects of each discipline ranking are all universities that have academic graduate degree authorization points in that first level discipline (as of the end of 2023). The list is released for the top 50% of universities ranked in this discipline, with a total of 4924 discipline points from 486 universities listed. This year's ranking adopts for the first time the first level discipline caliber from the "Catalogue of Graduate Education Disciplines and Majors (2022)" issued by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Ministry of Education.

The index system for ranking the best disciplines in Soft Science China includes five categories of indicators: talent cultivation, platform projects, achievement awards, academic papers, and high-end talents, with 18 indicators and a total of more than 70 observation variables reflecting the competitiveness of disciplines. In order to more fully reflect the achievements and connotations of discipline construction in Chinese universities, Soft Science has further enriched the indicator system for ranking the best disciplines in China this year: adding the variable of the person in charge of an internationally important journal to the indicator of internationally renowned scholars, covering the chief editors and deputy chief editors of more than 10000 international journals; Introduce the first recognition of National Excellent Engineers and National Excellent Engineer Teams in the Model Advanced Teacher Index; Introduce industry specific talent indicators in Chinese characteristic disciplines such as traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese herbal medicine, and calculate the titles of industry talents such as Qihuang Scholars, National Medical Masters, and National Famous Traditional Chinese Medicine. The data for the ranking of the best disciplines in Soft Science China comes entirely from third-party sources such as the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and international and domestic literature databases.
