Vice President lain Watt from University of Technology Sydney, Australia, visited JUFE

On the morning of September 24th, lain Watt, vice President of University of Technology Sydney (UTS), and his delegation visited our university. This was lain Watt's second visit in recent years. President Deng Hui and Vice President Fang Yuming met with lain Watt and his delegation, director of international Cooperation and Exchange Office, School of Accountancy, School of Statistics and Data Science and relevant staff attended the meeting.


During the talks, Deng Hui, on behalf of JUFE, extended a warm welcome to lain Watt. He pointed out that since the signing of the cooperation agreement last year, the cooperation between the two university has been fruitful, and the UTS exclusive class has achieved a good start this year. The University of Technology Sydney has a world-leading level in talent training and scientific research in the fields of artificial intelligence and computer. He hopes that the two universities can strengthen exchanges in these disciplines on the basis of the previous cooperation. At the same time, Deng Hui also introduced the plan in international education of JUFE.

lain Watt express happiness to visit JUFE again and have an in-depth communication with the participants. He said that he strongly agreed with the development concept of JUFE and President Deng Hui's proposal on the direction of further cooperation between the two university. As the only all-round cooperation university in Jiangxi Province, they attach great importance to the cooperation , are full of confidence in the cooperation projects between the two universities, and are full of expectations for exploring new cooperation modes and expanding cooperation areas in the future.

Before the symposium, lain Watt and his delegation also went to the School of Applied Economics to attend the opening ceremony of the 2024 UTS exclusive class and make a speech. After the symposium, lain Watt had a face-to-face communication with the 2024 freshmen and their parents. lainWatt introduced and answered the discipline advantages, geographical location, teaching facilities, campus environment, English language requirements, and the preferential policies for the students of the exclusive class.
