The Fourth Meeting of the Fourth Council of the Alumni Association of JUFE and the Joint Meeting of Presidents and Secretaries-General Held in Chongqing

On April 27th, the Fourth Meeting of the Fourth Council of the Alumni Association of JUFE and the Joint Meeting of Presidents and Secretaries-General of Alumni Associations from various regions was held in Chongqing. JUFE President Deng Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Yuan Xiong, former Secretary of the Party Committee and Advisor to the Alumni Association, Liao Jinqiu, former Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Alumni Association, Wang Qiao, former Secretary of the Party Committee and Advisor to the Alumni Association, Lu Fucai, Vice President of the Alumni Association, Zhang Jun, as well as the director of the centennial anniversary celebration evening and honorary alumni, Li Jianping from JUFE, attended the meeting. Over 130 people, including heads of relevant departments of JUFE, presidents and secretaries-general of alumni associations from all over the country, and alumni representatives participated in the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Minister of the Propaganda Department of JUFE, Han Guoyu.

In his speech, Deng Hui warmly welcomed the arrival of all alumni and expressed heartfelt thanks to the Chongqing Alumni Association for hosting this meeting. This year marks the beginning of a new era for JUFE's new century. Deng Hui engaged in such a familial exchange with the alumni on the overall train of thought for the high-quality development of JUFE, this year's main tasks, and the high-quality development of alumni work. He first introduced JUFE's overall train of thought for the new historical period and outlined the main tasks for the year 2024: firstly, to deeply promote quality transformation and open up new areas and tracks of development; secondly, to vigorously strengthen dynamic transformation and shape new advantages and dynamics of development; and thirdly, to accelerate efficiency transformation and build a new pattern and vitality of development.

In terms of the high-quality development of alumni work, Deng Hui proposed a reevaluation of the JUFE-alumni relationship in terms of work philosophy. He suggested transitioning from the primarily emotion-based academic relationship to a cooperative-based partnership, and analyzed the foundational basis and key manifestations of constructing the JUFE-alumni partnership. In practical terms, firstly, it is essential to establish a multidimensional alumni work system encompassing regions, colleges, classes, industries, businesses, and interests. Secondly, leveraging platforms such as the Alumni Entrepreneurs Association to promote multi-party collaboration among JUFE, alumni, and society. Thirdly, focusing on the Four Enhancements Initiative and the high-quality development of alumni work, nurturing exemplary projects that empower both the JUFE-alumni relationship. Deng Hui expressed gratitude to the alumni for their strong support towards JUFE's endeavors and looks forward to co-authoring a vibrant new chapter in the new century of JUFE with the alumni.

In terms of alumni work, Yuan Xiong proposed efforts at four levels. The first level is to connect with alumni, aiming to link alumni through various means and involve more alumni in the alumni association network. The second level is to get to know alumni, investing emotionally, making friends with alumni, and turning alumni into friends. The third level is to unite alumni, using emotions and culture to create a tangible and spiritual cohesion. The fourth level is to support alumni, by building platforms, integrating resources, and facilitating mutual support and empowerment between alumni and the almamater.

The meeting reviewed and approved the JUFE Alumni Association Council's 2023 work summary and 2024 work plan. It also held an award ceremony for outstanding alumni work teams and exemplary projects as part of the centennial celebration of JUFE.

Yuan Xiong presented the Distinctive Organization Award for the centennial alumni activities.

Liao Jinqiu presented the Premium Project Award led by the Alumni Association for the centennial alumni activities.

Wang Qiao presented the Premium Project Award for alumni associations from various regions for the centennial alumni activities.

Lu Fucai presented the Original Program Premium Project Award for the alumni team at the centennial celebration evening.

During the meeting, the preparation work for the JUFE Alumni Entrepreneurs Association was initiated, marking an important exploration to enhance the quality and efficiency of alumni work. In the exchange session, alumni shared their opinions and suggestions regarding the preparation of the Alumni Entrepreneurs Association.

In the afternoon, more than 40 alumni representatives participated in the alumni work exchange meeting. Discussions and seminars were held on topics such as the selection of volunteer star ratings, declaration of premium projects, and exchange of alumni work experiences.

The year 2024 marks the beginning of a new era as JUFE enters its second centennial. The successful convening of this conference has set the direction, boosted confidence, and united efforts for alumni work in the new era, fostering a century-long companionship and mutual growth between JUFE and its alumni.
