JUFE Participated in the 5th China Applied Economics Annual Conference

From April 13th to 14th, under the guidance of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council's Applied Economics Discipline Review Group, the 5th China Applied Economics Annual Conference (2024), jointly hosted by Renmin University of China and Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, was held at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics. JUFE Professor Wang Qiao was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the High-Quality Development and the Chinese Economy Presidents' Forum and served as a commentator at the Integration of Education, Science and Technology, and Talent Development thematic forum. Prof. Zhang Zhongfang and Prof. Gui Hefa spoke at the thematic forums on Integration of Education, Science and Technology, and Talent Development and Accelerating the Development of New Productive Forces, respectively.

The theme of this year's conference was High-Quality Development and the Chinese Economy. The conference focused on topics such as new productive forces, the role of applied economics in promoting high-quality development, the construction and dissemination of an independent knowledge system in economics, and the cultivation of top innovative talents, engaging in lively discussions to contribute insights towards advancing high-quality development of the Chinese economy and the development of the applied economics discipline.

This year's conference featured an opening forum, a Qiantang Night Talk, a Presidents' Forum, a Plenary Forum, and 10 thematic forums. Experts and scholars attending the conference engaged in lively discussions on topics such as New Productive Forces and High-Quality Development, The Present and Future of Chinese Economics, Constructing an Independent Knowledge System in Chinese Economics, Chinese Characteristics in Macroeconomic Regulation, A New Round of Economic System Reforms, Accelerating the Development of New Productive Forces, Building a Modern Industrial System, Accelerating the Construction of a Unified National Market, Accelerating the Development of the Digital Economy, Accelerating High-Level Opening to the Outside World, Integration of Education, Science and Technology, and Talent Development, and Data Intelligence Transformation and High-Quality Journal Development.

The China Applied Economics Annual Conference was initiated by Renmin University of China under the guidance of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council's Applied Economics Discipline Review Group. It invited leading figures and young scholars in the field of applied economics from across the country, aiming to create a high-level platform for the development and academic exchange of applied economics, contributing to the construction of an independent knowledge system in Chinese economics.
