From November 21st to 28th, President Deng Hui led a delegation to visit Indonesia and Malaysia. During the visit, they successively visited universities in Indonesia including the University of Indonesia, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Sampoerna University, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, as well as universities in Malaysia such as Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, and Kota Kinabalu High School. The purpose of the visit was to discuss educational cooperation projects, promote the internationalization of JUFE's education through the Going Global initiative, expand channels for international students studying in China, and visit JUFE students and alumni studying or working in Malaysia, contributing educational efforts to support the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative. Representatives from the Graduate School, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, School of Business Administration, and School of International Trade accompanied the delegation.


During the visit to Indonesia, the delegation held meetings with the leadership of the University of Indonesia, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Sampoerna University, and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, as well as with the heads of the international offices and relevant colleges. The University of Indonesia is one of the flagship universities in Indonesia, ranking among the top in the country's higher education institutions. During this visit, JUFE signed a memorandum of cooperation with them, focusing on talent development and joint research in the fields of digital economy and information science and technology. Additionally, the delegation also held a symposium with the Strategic and International Relations Institute of the University of Indonesia to discuss the joint establishment of a Belt and Road Research Institute.


At Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Deng Hui and his delegation held discussions with the Vice President of International Affairs, Ifan Iskandar, as well as the heads of the School of Economics and School of Humanities. Deng Hui expressed that JUFE is currently transitioning to become a global university, and Indonesia is an area where JUFE seeks to expand its international cooperation. He hoped that this visit would promote student and faculty exchanges and initiate collaboration between the two universities. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on joint programs for international trade and MBA talent development, as well as the co-hosting of high-level international academic conferences, and subsequently signed a cooperation agreement.


At Sampoerna University, the President Marshall Schott and members of the university leadership team held discussions with the delegation. The two parties reached an agreement on joint establishment of an international internship base for talent development, and signed a memorandum of cooperation. Afterwards, President Marshall Schott accompanied the delegation on a tour of the Sampoerna University campus.


At Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Deng Hui and his delegation held discussions with Siswantoyo, the Executive Vice President, and the head of the School of Business and others. Deng Hui introduced the century-long development history, achievements, and future positioning of JUFE, hoping that through high-quality project collaborations, the two universities could jointly propel their respective developments to new heights. Siswantoyo congratulated and appreciated the achievements of JUFE over the past century and expressed anticipation for further multi-level and multi-dimensional exchanges and collaborations with JUFE.
During the visit to Malaysia, the delegation visited Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, and Kota Kinabalu High School, focusing on in-depth discussions on topics such as the development of artificial intelligence and digital economy programs, international education project collaborations, joint research center establishment, and education for international students studying in China.


At Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, President You Fangda introduced the university's development history, discipline construction, and recent developments to the delegation. Deng Hui expressed that the two universities already have a good foundation for cooperation and hoped that the visit would further deepen the cooperative relationship, enabling more in-depth collaboration in talent development, faculty exchanges, joint research center establishment, and achieve more fruitful results. Both parties jointly signed a cooperation agreement for the establishment of a Joint Research Center for Digital Economy and Public Governance, as well as a mutual recognition agreement for graduate program credits. During the visit, Deng Hui also held discussions with students from JUFE who were studying at the institution, encouraging them to broaden their international perspectives through exchanges, act as cultural ambassadors, and enhance their global competence.



At Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, President Datuk Fazil warmly welcomed the delegation from JUFE and expressed anticipation for the two universities to engage in deep cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, business analytics, and more. Deng Hui stated that this visit was not only a return visit in response to President Datuk Fazil's visit to JUFE in September, but also aimed to expand the scope and depth of cooperation between the two institutions. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on matters such as establishing a joint research center for artificial intelligence and collaborative graduate training programs, and subsequently signed a cooperation agreement.


At Kota Kinabalu High School, the delegation held discussions with Chairman Lim Keguang, Principal Huang Bili, and others, and exchanged views on topics such as establishing international Chinese education teaching points and attracting students to study in China. Deng Hui pointed out that overseas Chinese are closely connected to us by blood and share a common culture. Both parties expressed their intention to promote cultural exchange and integration through activities such as summer camps, aiming to jointly cultivate talent with global competitiveness.


At the University of Malaysia Sabah, Deng Hui engaged in an in-depth discussion with the university's president, Datuk Kasim, regarding the direction and prospects of cooperation between the two institutions. Both parties reached an agreement on advancing collaboration in areas such as short-term study programs, two-way student exchanges, and faculty visits, and subsequently signed a memorandum of cooperation.
This year 2023 marks the tenth anniversary of the Belt and Road initiative. This visit has further expanded the friendly mutual trust between JUFE and universities in countries along the Belt and Road route, opening up international cooperation opportunities. In particular, the breakthrough in cooperation with Indonesian universities has laid a solid foundation for future deeper and broader educational and cultural exchanges.
