On November 12th, the first Management Change and Sustainable Development (MC&SD) international academic conference, hosted by JUFE and organized by the School of Business Administration, was held at the Mailu Campus. The conference was supported by the North American Case Research Association (NACRA), the International Case Research Association (ICRA), the Business School of Aalborg University in Denmark, and the Jiangxi Management Association.
Professor Lu Fucai, JUFE chairman, and President Deng Hui, attended the conference. Also in attendance were Professor Chen Jin, Chair Professor of the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University and Director of the Technology Innovation Research Center at Tsinghua University, Professor Su Jingqin, Dean of the Platform Governance Research Institute at Dalian University of Technology, and Professor William Wei, President of the International Case Research Association (ICRA) and professor at the Business and Economics School of Algoma University in Canada. Over 300 experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and student representatives from more than 30 universities in China and abroad participated in the conference, engaging in keynote speeches, special forums, and parallel forums on the theme of Digitalization of Enterprises and Management Innovation.
Deng Hui delivered the opening speech on behalf of JUFE. He pointed out that the world is currently undergoing extensive and profound changes, and digitalization, as an inevitable trend of the new era, has become fertile ground for innovation in enterprise management and a powerful engine for sustainable development. The hosting of this conference is a concrete action taken by the JUFE and the schools in actively responding to the national call for organized scientific research. Deng Hui introduced the basic situation of JUFE and its schools to the guests and expressed the hope that the schools, taking the opportunity of organizing this international academic conference, will continue to strengthen platform building, deepen international exchanges and cooperation, actively expand international academic resources, collaborate with international experts and scholars, and drive the continuous emergence of high-quality research results, in order to contribute intellectual strength to support the JUFE's three transformations, promote innovation in local enterprise management and digital transformation, and driving the socio-economic development of Jiangxi.
William Wei, representing the North American Case Research Association and the International Case Research Association, congratulated the conference on its opening. He reviewed the long-term case study collaboration between the two associations, JUFE and the School of Business and Management, as well as the achievements of their cooperation. He expressed his anticipation for continued collaboration with domestic and international counterparts to continue telling the story of Chinese management on the international stage through case studies.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Hu Haibo, the Dean of the School of Business and Management.
During the closing ceremony, Hu Haibo reviewed the highlights of the conference and pointed out that in today's rapidly-changing business environment, digitalization and management innovation are not only key to enhancing competitiveness but also crucial drivers for sustainable enterprise development. He also called for further strengthening of interdisciplinary collaboration and the establishment of a more solid platform for communication and exchange, based on this conference as an opportunity to jointly promote management change and sustainable enterprise development, and to contribute wisdom and strength to enterprise digitalization and management innovation.
The closing ceremony also included an award ceremony for outstanding papers. After two rounds of anonymous expert review, a total of 13 award-winning papers were selected at the conference. Professor Hu Haisheng, the Vice Dean of the School of Business and Management, announced the list of award-winning papers, and Hu Haibo, William Wei, and Yang Cheng jointly presented the awards for the winning papers at the conference.
The conference, from different fields and perspectives of various scholars, shared the latest research progress and practical experiences in the field of digitalization and management innovation, providing a platform for scholars in China and abroad to exchange ideas and offering new directions for enterprise digital management innovation. The conference received widespread attention from several mainstream media outlets, including Xinhua News Agency Jiangxi Branch, China.com, Jiangxi Education TV, Jiangxi News (Jiangxi Daily), Today's Headlines, Sina.com, Sohu.com, and others.
