JUFE Celebrates Its 100th Anniversary with a Grand Commemorative Event

On the morning of October 28th, the grand commemorative event for the 100th anniversary of the founding of JUFE was held at the track field in the Jiaoqiao North Campus.

On the eve of the event, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Yin Hong, visited the JUFE. He gave full recognition to the achievements of the JUFE in the past 100 years and expressed his hope that JUFE would spare no pains in accelerating the construction of a high-level financial and economic university, making new and greater contributions to the development of a modernized Jiangxi in the Chinese context.

Subsequently, a flag-raising ceremony took place, where all the attendees sang the national anthem in unison.

The Ministry of Finance extending warm congratulations and heartfelt wishes to all the faculty, staff, and alumni of the university. They expressed the hope that JUFE would make even greater contributions to the economic and social development of the country and the local region.

Member of the Standing Committee of Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee Liang Gui, on behalf of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, extended warm congratulations to all the faculty, staff, and alumni of JUFE. He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the relevant national ministries and friends from all sectors of society who have been concerned and supportive of the development of the JUFE and the education cause in Jiangxi.

Lu Fucai, representing all the faculty, staff, and students of JUFE, extended a warm welcome to all the leaders and guests attending the anniversary. He also expressed sincere respect to the alumni, both domestic and overseas, who have always cared about and supported the development of JUFE.

Lu Fucai stated that under the strong leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, JUFE will focus on the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and talent, continuously enhance the quality of education, thereby contributing significantly to the comprehensive development of a socialist modern Jiangxi, the realization of the the Second Centenary Goal”, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, represented by the Chinese Dream. Their aim is to make new contributions to JUFE , and with outstanding performance, repay the care and love of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Government, and society as a whole.

President Deng Hui delivered a speech with the theme Saluting the Centenary of JUFE, Striving in the Great Era. Deng Hui pointed out that as a centennial institution of higher education rooted in the revolutionary old area of Jiangxi, dedicated to nurturing innovative and entrepreneurial talents on the red soil, JUFE will adhere to the overarching principles and guidelines set by the Party Central Committee, particularly in light of the important speeches made by the General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Jiangxi. Building on the foundation of a century of distinctive characteristics and advantages, JUFE will liberate minds, forge ahead, address weaknesses, consolidate strengths, and continue to take on the mission of educating for the  Chinese communist party and China.

Deng Hui emphasized the commitment to advancing three major transformative tasks, striving to be at the forefront in the areas of moral education, scientific research, and serving the overall development agenda. JUFE is determined to lead, be proactive, and contribute significantly in these aspects.

Deng Hui reviewed JUFE's century-long journey from 1923 to 2023. Over the course of this hundred years, JUFE has consistently adhered to the values of patriotism, dedication to the country, and serving the people. Throughout this century, JUFE has steadfastly upheld the educational principles of cultivating a sound character and nurturing sentiment. In the spirit of self-reliance, diligence, and a drive for progress, JUFE has maintained a determined and proactive ethos. JUFE has also embraced a humanistic character characterized by unity, cooperation, and inclusiveness. Furthermore, JUFE has consistently embodied an attitude of pursuing excellence and scaling new heights over the past century.

Looking ahead to the second century of development for JUFE, Deng Hui emphasized the importance of continuing to strive in order to present a better future and create it. Looking to the future, he outlined several key points for the JUFE's development: Continuing the Struggle for excellence, remembering the Mission and Moral Education, Contributing to the Nation and Striving for Excellence, Rooting in Practice and Serving the Greater Good, Global Vision and Open Collaboration, Putting People First and Harnessing Talent.

Finally, Deng Hui called on all faculty and students to strive towards the glorious dream of building a high-level university of finance and economics with distinctive features, outstanding advantages, popular satisfaction, and international renown. He urged them to make new and greater contributions to the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist Jiangxi, the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country, and the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese. This vision demonstrates the JUFE's commitment to excellence, national and global recognition, and active participation in the larger mission of national development and prosperity.

The President of Central University of Finance and Economics(CUFE), Ma Haitao, on behalf of Sibling college, extends profound respect to JUFE for its outstanding achievements over a century and its significant contributions to the national economic development and social progress. He warmly congratulates and offers best wishes to all the faculty, staff, students, and alumni of JUFE, both domestically and internationally.

Ma Haitao noted that as Sibling college specializing in finance and economics, CUFE has maintained a strong bond of mutual support and collaboration with JUFE. This partnership has laid the foundation for deep friendships and fruitful cooperation. He also expressed a willingness to collaborate with JUFE, Sibling college, and various sectors of society to focus on the primary task of high-quality development, promoting educational modernization in service of China's modernization efforts. In the new era, they aim to compose a new chapter in this journey and make even greater contributions to the development of a strong nation and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

On behalf of St. Petersburg State University of Economics, Russia, Mr. Maksimtsev, President of St. Petersburg State University of Economics, Russia, congratulated JUFE on its 100th anniversary. He was convinced that JUFE will continue to attract talented, young, creative, thoughtful people, and make a significant contribution to the development of education and science.

He has not the slightest doubt that JUFE will achieve the ambitious and noble goals that JUFE sets in the new century of its history: JUFE will build a world-class university that serves for the economic and social development of Jiangxi Province and China.

Yonyou Network Technology Co., Ltd.'s Chairman and CEO, Wang Wenjing, expressed his great joy in returning to JUFE to participate in the commemorative ceremony. He expressed gratitude to China and to JUFE. Reminiscing about his life as student, Wang Wenjing noted that though the four years were brief, they bestowed him a lifelong and invaluable treasure. He focus on finance laid the knowledge foundation for his career development. The BASIC language course ignited a profound interest in computer programming, shaping his future career path. The stories of entrepreneurs from both China and abroad inspired his entrepreneurial aspirations.

Wang Wenjing sincerely hopes and wishes that JUFE, starting from a new milestone in its centennial history, will continue to move forward steadfastly and thrive. He envisions JUFE excelling in fields such as talent cultivation, scientific research, community service, cultural inheritance and innovation, as well as international cooperation. He aspires for it to become a high-level institution in finance and economics and eventually achieve global recognition. In doing so, he believes the JUFE will contribute significantly to building a strong nation in education, technology, and talent.

Renowned financial scholar and former Vice President of Renmin University of China, Wu Xiaoqiu, fondly recalled his life as a student and expressed gratitude for the nurturing environment of JUFE. He thanked his mentors for their guidance and assistance throughout his academic journey. According to Wu Xiaoqiu, a university's prosperity is intricately tied to its ability to cultivate talent. In this process, he emphasized the crucial role of inclusivity. Without inclusivity, academic prosperity is unlikely, and without academic prosperity, intellectual growth is stunted. After fostering inclusivity, the next step is openness. Wu Xiaoqiu stressed the importance of remaining humble and open to learning, asserting that with an open-minded approach, a university can truly achieve world-class status. He expressed his hope that JUFE, in harmony with China and its people, would contribute to the realization of Chinese-style modernization and play a significant role in this collective destiny.

All participants watched a celebration video and a centennial tribute film titled To Letter, both dedicated to the JUFE's anniversary prior to the commemorative meeting. They also enjoyed musical performances featuring songs I Think, You Also Think and Yearning.

The commemorative event was simultaneously broadcasted on the official school website, WeChat video channel,  TikTok, Bilibili, Weibo, and QQ channel. As of noon, the total viewership across all platforms reached an impressive 700,000 views.
