On the eve of the centenary celebration of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, the 22nd National University Collaboration Group Conference on International Trade Discipline and the 2023 Forum on the Development of International Trade Discipline (the “Conference”) were held in Nanchang from October 13th to 15th. The forum was hosted by the National University Collaboration Group on International Trade Discipline and JUFE, and organized by the School of International Economics and Trade of JUFE. Over 300 experts and scholars from more than 100 universities and research institutions, including Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Renmin University of China, Xiamen University, Wuhan University, Nankai University, and University of International Business and Economics, the Ministry of Commerce, Jiangxi Provincial Department of Commerce, attended the conference.The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Yuan Honglin, vice president of JUFE.

The theme of this conference is "Advancing China's High-level Opening-up in the New Era". Experts and scholars engaged in in-depth discussions on various aspects related to the theme, including how to build a new system for a higher level of open economy, establish new platforms for opening-up, cultivate new driving forces and advantages for opening-up, increase engagement in global economic governance, and promote the development of international trade disciplines and talent cultivation.




During the keynote speech session, six professors delivered speeches. The topics covered "Scope and Compatibility of Open Digital Economy Policies", "From Openness-Driven Reform to Accelerating the Construction of an Open Market Economy: Reflections on 45 Years of Reform and Opening-up", and etc.

The conference also included six expert forums (including three youth expert forums) and twenty-two thematic forums, covering topics such as digital technology, digital economy and digital trade and the global economic governance system. Experts and scholars at the conference engaged in in-depth discussions from multiple perspectives and levels around these research directions.


The closing ceremony of the conference was held on the morning of October 15th. Professor Lin Guijun, the Secretary-General of the National University International Trade Discipline Cooperation Group, gave a summary of the conference. Professor Lin highly praised the organization work of the conference and expressed his gratitude to the conference organizing team of the School of International Economics and Trade at JUFE and all the participants. Professor Yu Zhen, from the School of Economics and Management at Wuhan University and Dean of the Hongyi Academy, invited the participants to attend the next annual conference. The closing ceremony was chaired by Professor Yin Xiaopeng, the Dean of the Global Value Chain Research Institute at the University of International Business and Economics and the Deputy Secretary-General of the National University International Trade Discipline Cooperation Group.

The Conference is the highest-level academic conference in the field of international trade and international business in China. The 2023 conference received a total of 304 paper submissions and over 350 participants from 110 institutions. It was the first offline conference of the Cooperation Group since the end of the pandemic. The School of International Economics and Trade at JUFE submitted 27 papers, and over 10 teachers and students from the School presented their papers in keynote speeches, expert forums, and various thematic forums. This greatly expanded the influence of JUFE's international trade and international business disciplines and effectively supported the construction of JUFE as a high-level research-oriented institution.
