University of Essex Visited JUFE

On June 8, Dr. Annecy Lax, Head of Partnerships (Education), Office of the Vice-Chancellor, and Barbara Sun , Director of the China Office, University of Essex, visited JUFE. JUFE Vice President Liu Xiaoli met with the guests, accompanied by Gong Meijun, Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.

Liu Xiaoli said that she was deeply impressed during her visit to Essex in 2018, and praised the University of Essex for its reputation, campus environment and academic atmosphere. She pointed out that JUFE and Essex have maintained a good cooperative relationship, and hoped that the two universities would further expand the areas of cooperation such as cross-disciplinary research, and provide more platforms and opportunities for teachers and students to visit and exchange.

Annecy mentioned that the University of Essex is a world-class research-driven university, known as the cradle of Nobel Prize winners, and hoped that the two universities would maintain a closer relationship and make more breakthroughs in student exchange, faculty visits and collaborative research.

Besides, Annecy, Barbara, Gong Meijun and related staff discussed the 3+1 graduate program, 2+2 dual degree program, teacher exchange and joint training of PhD students. After discussion, Annecy and Barbara were offered a guided campus tour.

JUFE and the University of Essex have established cooperation in 2014. Over the years, more than 40 teachers have been to Essex to conduct various academic activities, more than 150 students have been to Essex for exchange and study, and more than 60 teachers and staff from the University of Essex have been to JUFE to conduct various academic lectures and exchange visits.
