The 7th International Cultural Festival Held

On the afternoon of May 20th, the 7th International Cultural Festival, was successfully held at JUFE. Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to China, Dr. Martin Chedondo, and his colleagues attended the event. JUFE President Deng Hui delivered the opening speech, and Vice President Liu Xiaoli unveiled the opening ceremony, and leaders of related university units and nearly 2,000 Chinese and foreign teachers and students from 65 countries around the world gathered at Jueqi Square of Jiaoqiao Campus to celebrate the event.

Deng Hui pointed out that JUFE has always attached great importance to the internationalization and made it a key strategy to guide our development. The past years have witnessed our remarkable results in cultural exchanges, international talent training, serving the Belt and Roadinitiative and other aspects. The different cultures of the world should appreciate the values of others as do to one's own, and the world will become a harmonious whole. It is hoped that Chinese and foreign teachers and students can enjoy the multicultural atmosphere, promote mutual learning & understanding of diverse civilizations, harvest friendship through this International Cultural Festival, contribute to the expansion of education opening up and the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Martin Chedondo stated that China is a leading center of higher education in the world, and it is a great opportunity for Zimbabwean young people to study in China. The Embassy of Zimbabwe in China aims to establish the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, actively seek the cooperation opportunities in the field of higher education, and vigorously promote the cooperation and exchanges with Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics.

Meng Fanlu, a representative of international students from Madagascar, said in her speech that, for international students, the International Culture Festival is not only a grand festival, but also a good opportunity to enhance mutual understanding and communication with classmates from various countries. She hoped to use this opportunity to establish friendship and promote the integration of international culture.

This year's International Culture Festival has the theme of Hundred-Year Stormy Journey of JUFE, China's Glory Across the World. The event arranged stage performances and 17 cultural exhibition booths, including art performances, painting, special games, photo exhibitions, exotic cuisine, charity sales and more. The shows are diverse and cheerful, including Southeast Asian traditional dances, Moroccan traditional clothing fashion shows, primitive dances from Guinea, Gabon and Lesotho, JUFE teachersQipao dance, folk bands Chinese traditional music show, Chinese style poetry recitation, Hanfu show, and Chinese ethnic minority dance performances, as well as martial arts performances by children from Hu Jia Primary School in Qingshanhu District. The thunderous applause and cheers could be heard time to time throughout the scene.

Accompanied by President Deng Hui, Ambassador Martin Chedondo and his delegation visited the exhibition booths of various countries and had exchanges with international students studying in China. Martin Chedondo highly praised the International Cultural Festival, and the enthusiasm of teachers and students' participation in cultural exchanges also left him with a deep impression. The teachers and students couldn't help but exclaim that they had experienced the customs, culture, clothing, and food of countries around the world within just a few hours. It was like taking a trip through time and across the world, which was truly amazing!

Students from different countries warmly introduced their unique products and cuisine to the ambassador, presented handmade small gifts and invited him to join them in a joyful dance.

It is reported that in order to enhance the understanding of Chinese and foreign students on various cultures around the world, JUFE has been holding International Cultural Festival since 2015, which has expanded the international vision of both Chinese and foreign students, improved their cross-cultural communication abilities, and become a splendid business card of our universitys internationalization. This year coincides with the 100th anniversary of JUFE's founding. On the occasion of this centennial celebration, the International Cultural Festival is an appetizer, fully demonstrating an inclusive spirit and style of Chinese and foreign students of our university, adding vivid and bright colors to build a more beautiful and harmonious international community at JUFE.
