The Kick-Off Meeting and First Seminar of Virtual Teaching and Research Section of Chinese Tax System Course of Ministry of Education Held

​In order to implement the Notice of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education on Launching the Pilot Construction of Virtual Teaching and Research Sections and other instructions, on May 8, the kick-off meeting and first seminar of virtual teaching and research section of the Chinese Tax System course led by JUFE was held through a combination of online and offline methods, which was attended by Professor Yang Canming, Vice-Chairman of the Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and President of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Professor Yu Haifeng, Member of the Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and President of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, Professor Deng Hui, JUFE President, and Professor Wang Qiao, deputy director of the Public Finance Major of the Teaching Steering Committee and head of the China Tax System Virtual Teaching and Research Section, and presided over by Professor Li Chungen, JUFE Vice President. Representatives from 10 universities including JUFE, Xiamen University, and Anhui University attended the meeting.

On behalf of the Public Finance Major Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, Yang Canming delivered a speech, and showed his warm congratulations on the establishment of the virtual teaching and research section of the Chinese taxation course led by JUFE. He hoped that the team would develop new ideas and promote the construction of the Chinese Taxation System course.

Deng Hui celebrated the successful establishment of the Virtual Teaching and Research Section while expressing his thanks to the partner universities who supported the declaration and participated in the construction and to the Committee for its guidance. He then introduced the recent reform and development of undergraduate education and teaching at JUFE from the aspects of strengthening professional construction, curriculum building and teaching. He hoped that relevant departments of JUFE will back the Section in its later development.

On behalf of the newly established Section, Wang Qiao spoke his heartfelt thanks to the leaders and experts for their guidance and help, and to the strong support of each team member. He focused on the characteristics of the course and its foundation. He also stressed that moral education must be taken as the fundamental task while improving the ability of talent training as the core. By dint of modern information technology, the focus should be put on promoting the innovation of the organizational model of teaching and research section, thereby realizing inter-university collaboration and teachers self-development.

On behalf of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, Yu Haifeng extended warm congratulations to the Section being selected as the first batch of pilot projects for construction. He pointed out that the construction of virtual teaching and research sections is an important means to explore and promote the construction of new grass-roots teaching organizations. It is also necessary to forge a high-level teaching team through the construction of virtual teaching and research sections.

​The seminar was presided over by Professor Zhang Zhongfang, Dean of the School of Public Finance and Public Administration. Attendees discussed around the target positioning, construction content, and pathways of the virtual teaching and research section. They all expressed hopes that the section could boost the innovation of the organizational model of the teaching and research department, and realize the sharing of teaching and research results and resources.

Wu Yunfeng, Deputy Dean of the School of Public Finance and Public Administration and Hu Fang, a member of the Section, respectively introduced the construction work plan and functions of the platform.

Through this meeting, the member units of the Course have had more in-depth exchanges, and will develop and progress together in the subsequent construction.
