I. Overview
Established on February 11, 2019, the Overseas Education School (OES) of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics is responsible for international education. It consists of three offices: General Administration Office, Admissions Office and Academic Affairs Office.
History:
◆In November 1995, JUFE was approved to enroll international students;
◆In September 1997, the first cohort of international students were recruited;
◆In March 2013, JUFE was granted qualification to educate international students under Chinese Government Scholarship Programs;
◆ In September 2013, JUFE began to recruit international students with bachelor and master’s degree;
◆In September 2014, JUFE enrolled overseas doctoral students for the first time;
◆In September 2017,JUFE recruited overseas bachelor students majoring in International Business taught in English and covered English-taught undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs;
◆In October 2018, JUFE passed the Quality Certification for Overseas Education in China issued by China’s Ministry of Education;
◆In February 2019, the Overseas Education School of JUFE was formally established.
◆In October 2019, the Overseas Education School was authorized by the Confucius Institute Headquarters to award Confucius Institute Scholarships.
II. Students Introduction (2019)
In 2019, the Overseas Education School enrolled 502 international students from more than 60 countries, fulfilling the goal set in the 13th Five-year Plan ahead of schedule. Among them, degree holders account for 61%, master and doctoral students, 34% as well as self-funded students, 58%.
