President of South Africa, Zuma Met and Talked with JUFE overseas students from South Africa

Recently, there was a good news from JUFE’S partner-- Chinese culture and International Education Exchange Center of South Africa, four JUFE overseas students from South Africa, Nokwazi Marry-Angel Zuma, Sthembiso Phumlani Mdladla, Sandile Selby Mthehwa, Banele Andile Mathenjwa were given an interview by the President of South Africa, Zuma during the summer holiday. President Zuma expressed his care about the students’ study and life in China, and encouraged them to better understand Chinese society, culture, learn Chinese language, and professional knowledge well. President Zuma also encouraged them to contribute to the exchange career between China and South Africa in the near future.


In September this year, the four South African students began their second-year study in JUFE. After a whole year’s study in JUFE, their Chinese language level had been improved to a relevant high level. After they passed the HAK test, they had been recruited to the bachelor degree programs by JUFE and started their study in the School of International Business, School of Economics, and School of Software respectively.


 Nokwazi Marry-Angel Zuma, from the School of Economics, expressed that it was a big challenge to learn mathematics and some other courses. However, she had the self-conference to face the study challenge in the coming four years and to be sure of successfully earning the bachelor degree.


In the recent years, in order to improve the overseas-student education level, OICE (the office of International Cooperation and Exchanges of JUFE) had done a lot of fruitful work on the student recruitment, service and teaching, setting up the English Master Programs and Doctor Programs. The number of the overseas students who received the state scholarship and commence ministry scholarship had being increased year by year. JUFE had established the good relationship with Chinese culture and the International Education Exchange Center of South Africa, Kazakhstan Asian Education Center, Benin International School, and other institutions, which would ensure the quality of overseas students. Meanwhile, OICE organized all kinds of activities, like Chinese Corner, Sports, Chinese Language Contest, and Culture Festival, etc., welcomed by the overseas students.


At the present, in order to follow the “JUFE dream”, OICE, cooperating with the Office of Teaching Affairs, the Graduate School and other schools, is making great efforts to improve the level of Internationalization of JUFE and making the overseas-student education better and better.
