As a Chinese old saying goes, "Traveling ten thousand miles is better than reading ten thousand books, and making many friends is better than traveling ten thousand miles." The 1st Study Abroad Sharing Session was held on the evening of March 13. Vice President Wang Xiaoping attended the event. Xiao Long, director of OICE, and the relevant faculty members also joined this activity. This session attracted nearly 600 students, far more than the auditorium could hold.

Wang Xiaoping introduced his early experience of studying abroad with a humorous tone. As a national outstanding student, he returned as an overseas student and a CSC judge. So, he shared his own experience of studying abroad with the students and expressed his hope and encouragement to more outstanding students, who want to study abroad. And, at the same time, he briefly introduced the upcoming policies of encouraging students to study abroad. He hopes that JUFE students develop their own international quality and ability to adapt to the requirements of international job market by studying abroad. Wang Xiaoping's wonderful and humorous speech won the teachers and students’ enthusiastic applause.

Party work department minister Zheng Yun used "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow" as the theme, talking about his understanding of international approach, encouraging students to make full use of the resources provided by JUFE, seizing the opportunity to go out actively and living richly and colorfully in JUFE. Director of International Cooperation and Exchange, Xiao Long, highly praised the speakers about their fluent English, at the same time, she expressed a strong hope in JUFE students that are studying abroad -If it's impossible, try to make it possible! Finally, Xiao Long introduced the relevant situation of study-abroad programs and the incentive policies for studying abroad.

Wang Zaiyuan, who is from Accounting School shared, showed his thoughts and gains after a year of study at Columbia University. He told us the importance of learning English and time management skills. Introducing his learning methods and recommending that each student find their own path of study according to their own conditions and needs. Lin Yuanfei, who is from International School, went to Millersville University for one year of communication study through free tuition exchange program. She told us that the process of applying for a free tuition exchange program is as important as the experience and feeling of learning and living how to survive in a foreign country. She said that we’d better live happily and kindly and the true happiness will be doing what you want to do, and everyone should find a suitable way. Finally, she suggested that we should seize the opportunity to go out to broad our horizons and do not leave your university life with regret.

 

Li Boyang who is from International trade school shared her experience and gain of studying in Nantes. She noted that she was benefited a lot from overseas colleges and universities teachers’ diversification, emphasizing practice, and characteristics of culture diversity. At the same time, she shared how to exercise thinking and improve work efficiency by pressure training, the differences between Chinese and western thinking, and how to promote the cultivation of interpersonal relationships. Hu Yanrui who is from Finance school shared her master process and experience of applying for the University of Pittsburgh. She emphasized the time arrangement skills of application, the importance of the recommendation letter, interview skills, and self-confidence as well as improvisation in the interview.

 

Zhou Tianhao, who is from accounting school, applied for the master degree of University of London successfully. He compared the pros and cons of applying overseas master degree and participate in postgraduate examinations in domestic form, acceptance rate, and degree of efforts in a humorous way. He shared his test experience of participating in the IELTS and GMAT ups and downs, hoping us to treat each test with common heart. At the scene of sharing, students who are sent to the University of Oulu, Finland through the first China Scholarship Council outstanding undergraduate program in our school shared their study abroad trip by video.
