President Wang Qiao：View International Education from a Global Perspective

On April 4th, president Wang Qiao visited OICE and had a face-to-face talk with all 10 staff memberd. This is the first time for the past three years after the new round of promotion of leaders for each department (one round every 4 years). Vice president Wang Xiaoping also attended the meeting.

The Director of OICE first presented the achievements in the past three years (i.e. the successful application for a Confucius Institute and the growing  scale of international students) and difficulties they met in daily work.

President Wang had a good opinion of the performance by OICE and praised the team as a young, lively and pioneering one. He pointed out that international education is and will be a major work among all development strategies of the University. All departments and Schools should cooperate thoroughly and communicate effectively on issues, such as enrolment and cultivation of international students.

Wang stressed the importance of awareness of foreign policies and disciplines to the young staff. He hoped that every staff in OICE should try to be a “doctor of all kinds”, which means dealing with all kinds of foreign affairs in daily work.
