JUFE-Led Digital Twin Innovation Center for Environmental Monitoring Approved

Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of Jiangxi Province issued the Notice on Establishing the First Batch of Provincial Technology Innovation Centers in 2026 for Fields Including Electronic Information, Equipment Manufacturing, Non-metallic Materials, Biomedicine, New Energy, Water Conservancy, Agriculture, Textile and Apparel, Furniture and Ecological Environment. Among them, the provincial technology center Jiangxi Industrial Park Environmental Monitoring and Early Warning Digital Twin Technology Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”), led by JUFE and jointly applied for and co-built with China Chemical Southern Construction Investment (Jiangxi) Co., Ltd., has been successfully approved.
Centered on the national strategies for the modernization of ecological and environmental governance and green transition, the Center responds to the needs for green and safe development of key industrial parks in Jiangxi Province, including those for petrochemical, non-ferrous metal and fine chemical industries. Taking comprehensive intelligent environmental monitoring, digital twin simulation of environmental risks and the development of standardized management and control systems as its core focuses, it aims to build a provincial-level innovation platform integrating technological research, platform empowerment, standard development, demonstration application and industrial services.
Professor Liu Yaobin, Chairman of JUFE, serves as Director of the Center. The Center brings together an interdisciplinary green and low-carbon research team composed of leading talents, core backbones and promising young researchers .
As the primary supporting school for the Center’s development, the School of Public Administration has responded to major national needs concerning the modernization of national governance, the “Dual Carbon” strategy and ecological civilization construction in recent years. Focusing on the national ecological civilization strategy and the “Dual Carbon” goals, the school has established the Department of Green and Low-Carbon Engineering. It is deeply involved in all construction tasks of the Center, with research centering on resource and environmental monitoring, ecological security, the realization of the value of ecological products and other themes, highlighting studies on green transition and interdisciplinary governance mechanisms.
The Virtual Reality (VR) Modern Industry College provides ample scenarios, cases, equipment and technical support. The School of Software and Internet of Things Engineering, the School of Computer and Artificial Intelligence, the School of Information Management and Mathematics, and the School of Economicsprovided technical expertise to the joint application. Other key participating organizations include the Jiangxi Digital Economy Society, the Dual Carbon Division of TCL G-TECH, Shenchuang Low-Carbon Technology Development (Jiangxi) Co., Ltd., and Net Carbon Era (Jiangxi) Technology Industry Co., Ltd.
Provincial Technology Innovation Centers form an integral part of Jiangxi’s science and technology innovation base system. This successful approval marks an important achievement for the School of Public Administration in seizing development opportunities of digitalization, green development and internationalization while serving ecological civilization advancement. It will provide strong support for JUFE’s efforts to build a high-level research university, a first-class digital and intelligent finance and economics university and a benchmark university serving regional development.
