Paper by Prof. Hu Haibo's Team Published in Management World
Recently, the academic paper Escaping the "Uniformity of Thousand Villages": A Dual-Case Study on the Dual Legitimacy Paradox and Governance Mechanism of Agriculture-Culture-Tourism Enterprises, co-authored by Professor Hu Haibo from the School of Business Administration and his team members Zhou Jie, Lu Haitao and Hu Wenli, was published in Management World, Issue 10, 2026.
Focusing on the prevalent problem of "uniformity of a thousand villages" homogenization in the integration of agriculture, culture and tourism, the paper takes two enterprises, Shangloulou and Shilifangfei, as research subjects. It proposes the concepts of "performance legitimacy" and "local legitimacy", and reveals that homogenization does not merely stem from imitative convergence. Instead, enterprises fail to effectively balance operational efficiency and local responsibilities, which leads to governance failure of the dual legitimacy paradox.
