JUFE Convenes a Conference on Building a High-Quality Education System
On the afternoon of October 10, JUFE's Conference on Building a High-Quality Education System was held. The meeting was chaired by Liu Yaobin, Chairman of JUFE. All university leaders, heads of the university’s functional departments, deans of all colleges, and heads of research institutions attended the meeting.
Liu Yaobin pointed out that this conference anchors JUFE's educational positioning and long-term development goals, and coordinates the integrated and synergistic development of education, science and technology, and talent. It clarified the direction and refined the pathways for JUFE to build a high-quality education system and advance connotative development. He emphasized the need to view education reform against the backdrop of the major global education transformations and the major global education transformations trends of population structure and industrial structure.
Prof. Deng Hui, President of JUFE, delivered a keynote speech. He elaborated on the dialectical relationship between education, science and technology, and talent, and pointed out that this conference is aimed at advancing reform in depth and promoting the integrated and coordinated development of education, science and technology, and talent. Deng Hui further explained JUFE’s considerations in the area of talent cultivation reform and put forward the “Ten Comprehensive” reform tasks. All schools and colleges should take this conference as a new starting point, unify their thinking, strengthen their confidence, seek truth and be pragmatic, run the university with the aspiration to strengthen the nation, and nurture new generations with the heart of parents, striving to write the JUFE chapter in building an education powerhouse.
Vice President Li Chungen, who is in charge of graduate education, delivered a special reform report focusing on the high-quality development of graduate education. He clarified the leading role of graduate education in building a high-level research university and laid out eight major measures.
Vice President Xie Hualin, who is in charge of undergraduate education, delivered a special report on the high-quality development of undergraduate education and proposed the “Six Strengthening Actions” reform system.
Representatives from the School of Accounting, the School of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, and the School of Virtual Reality (VR) Modern Industry respectively gave a presentations on exemplary practices on their achievements and development strategies in undergraduate talent cultivation, graduate talent cultivation, and industry-education integration respectively.
