Mr. Cao Yushan, professor of accounting, from the Accounting School of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE), is in the University of Essex as a visiting scholar since September 2012. He has been founded jointly by China Scholarship Council and local government.

He has been given a honorable title of visiting professor and treated as one of their own staff, entitling to share all the facilities on the campus. He is busy with his research project with his counterpart and he attended the related courses occasionally.

One of his missions is to take part in some seminars on accounting and finance, trying to gain more information about the frontiers of this field in the UK, as quite a lot lecturers and professors would be invited to delivery their lectures on different subjects every week on the campus.

From his experience and observation, the university has been characterized with outstanding research environment, applying social sciences and ethics to business, managing for sustainability and the environment, addressing changing economic, financial and social environments, and ranked 2nd in accounting and finance by RAE 2008.
University of Essex has cooperated with JUFE for about five years and recruited around 20 JUFE students each year. It is getting around that these students are of excellent academic performances. One example will be one of our students Niu Yucheng, who got a special reward from the business school for his best scores in the school in 2011. Quite a number of the graduates from this university have been admitted into the master programs in the London School of Economics and Political Science,Imperial College London and Lancaster University.
