Huang Zeyu Awarded "China College Student Self-improvement Star" Honor

Recently, the 2023–2024 "China College Student Self-improvement Star" Scholarship selection results, jointly organized by the Communist Youth League Central Committee, the All-China Students' Federation, the Department of Grassroots Construction of the Communist Youth League Central Committee, and China Youth Daily, were announced. Huang Zeyu, a 2021 undergraduate student from the School of Statistics and Data Science, was honored with the title of "China College Student Self-improvement Star."

The "China College Student Self-improvement Star" recognition initiative, guided by the Communist Youth League Central Committee and the All-China Students’ Federation, and co-organized by China Youth Daily and New Oriental Education & Technology Group, has been held annually since 2007. This year’s theme, "Confidence, Self-reliance, and Shouldering Responsibilities", encourages young scholars to demonstrate leadership in fields such as technological innovation, rural revitalization, green development, social services, and national defense, showcasing the spirit of Chinese youth in pursuing ideals, embracing responsibilities, enduring hardships, and striving for excellence.A total of 1,610 students nationwide received this honor in the 2023–2024 cycle. Huang Zeyu is the only recipient from JUFE this year, marking the second consecutive year that a student from the School of Statistics and Data Science has been awarded this distinction, following Fang Zekai’s recognition in the previous cycle.
