On February 27, the inauguration ceremony of the School of Public Finance and Taxation and the School of Public Administration was held at JUFE, along with a seminar on the high-quality development of disciplines under the background of Chinese modernization. Cong Shuhai, former Party Secretary of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Yang Canming, former President of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, were invited to attend the event. Additionally, Liu Yaobin, Chairman of JUFE, Deng Hui, President of JUFE, Wang Qiao, former Chairman of JUFE, Jiang Jinfa, former Party Secretary of Jiangxi Academy of Social Sciences, and Vice Presidents Yuan Honglin, Li Chunqen, and Xie Hualin also attended the event. The ceremony was presided over by Yuan Honglin. More than 300 participants, including experts and scholars in the fields of public finance and public administration in China, representatives from various functional departments and schools of JUFE, as well as faculty and student representatives from the School of Public Finance and Taxation and the School of Public Administration, gathered to witness the inauguration and engage in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge disciplinary topics, mapping out a blueprint for disciplinary development in the new era.

Deng Hui, on behalf of JUFE, extended a warm welcome to the leaders and guests attending the event and expressed heartfelt gratitude to all sectors of society and academic colleagues for their care, support, and assistance in the JUFE's development and disciplinary construction. He pointed out that the independent establishment of the School of Public Finance and Taxation and the School of Public Administration is not only a continuation of the century-old educational tradition but also an innovative move in response to Chinas strategic needs. The School of Public Finance and Taxation will focus on building an independent knowledge system in public finance and taxation, breaking down disciplinary barriers through the "school-run university" model, and creating an academic highland that serves macroeconomic regulation and social equity. The School of Public Administration will be dedicated to improving the theoretical system of modern public governance, enhancing the efficiency of social governance through digital technology, and laying a solid disciplinary foundation for the modernization of national governance capabilities. He hopes that the two schools will integrate into the wave of digital and intelligent transformation in terms of innovation-driven development, explore new disciplinary tracks, and inject momentum into JUFE's "third entrepreneurship." In terms of disciplinary leadership, they will align with Chinas strategic needs, deepen the collaboration between government, industry, academia, and research, and promote the transformation of scientific research results into governance effectiveness. In terms of moral education, they will build a "knowledge-ability-value" integrated training system to cultivate a new generation with a sense of national responsibility, global vision, and practical abilities.

Following the inauguration ceremony, the School of Public Finance and Taxation hosted a keynote report on "The Construction of an Independent Knowledge and Teaching System in Public Finance and Taxation," a roundtable forum on "Hot Issues and Disciplinary Construction in the Field of Public Finance and Taxation," and a thematic forum on "High-Quality Development of Public Finance and Taxation Disciplines and Scientific Research." The sessions were chaired by Xie Hualin, Shu Cheng, and Xi Weiqun, respectively.

Li Yongyou, Zhang Kezhong, and Li Chungen delivered keynote speeches titled "Thoughts on the Reform of Central-Local Fiscal Relations," "Why Do We Need Global Public Finance?" and "Exploration and Practice of Building a 'Golden Course Cluster' in Taxation," respectively.

During the roundtable forum, Li Sen, Li Linmu, Ren Qiang, Li Hua, and Cai Hongying, as panelists, engaged in an in-depth dialogue on hot issues and disciplinary construction in the field of public finance and taxation. Based on academic frontiers and practical needs, the participating scholars conducted systematic discussions on topics such as innovation in fiscal and tax policies, interdisciplinary integration, and the empowerment of digital technology, offering a multi-dimensional analysis of the opportunities and challenges currently faced in the field of public finance and taxation.

With a century-old tradition, JUFE continues to pass on its legacy. The two schools will take the inauguration as a starting point, uphold the university motto of "Honesty, Vitality, Integrity, and Tenacity," deepen educational and teaching reforms, build a high-level faculty team, and create a "dual highland" for talent cultivation and scientific research innovation. The two schools will base themselves in Jiangxi, radiate across the nation, and serve national strategies through the high-quality development of disciplines, writing a brilliant chapter for higher education in the new era.
