On May 27th, the first China University Rope Skipping Championships concluded successfully at the new sports center of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, where JUFE won three individual awards.
With strong support from the university and the academy, JUFE’s rope skipping team was led by Deputy Dean Zhu Yakun, and coached by Geng Xiaoxiao and Zhao Jianqiang. Four outstanding students with strong professional skills and technical proficiency were selected for training based on competition standards. This competition, which is the highest level and most prestigious rope skipping event for university students nationwide, lasted for five days. It featured 639 athletes from 58 universities across the country, including SUFE, ECNU, SUS, SU, and SCNU, competing in nine units over 176 matches. Wen Dezhi from the Virtual Reality (VR) Modern Industry Academy won the championship in the three-minute single rope skipping event, the runner-up in the 30-second single rope skipping event, and, together with Li Ruijie from the School of Accounting, placed sixth in the 2x30-second double rope skipping event.
On the stage of national university sports competitions, JUFE’s athletes vividly embodied the spirit of our university's motto Faith, Diligence, Integrity, Perseverance with firm belief and outstanding skills. They continually honed themselves in each competition, enhancing their physical fitness and willpower. The high level of skill and professionalism demonstrated by JUFE’s athletes earned the respect of their competitors and injected new vitality into the development of JUFE’s sports programs.
