On February 13th, two vice presidents of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Mr. Iain Watt and Mr. Liu Mian, visited JUFE and signed a cooperation agreement. JUFE President Deng Hui, Vice President Liu Xiaoli, representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, International School, and the School of Information Management attended the meeting and signing ceremony.
Hui warmly welcomed the UTS delegation and expressed that JUFE is actively transforming into a global university. He hopes to promote exchanges and visits between students and faculties of the two universities and to promote technological innovation cooperation in fields such as computer technology and legal technology.
Liu Xiaoli briefly introduced JUFE's internationalization. She expressed that JUFE has always attached great importance to international education and has achieved fruitful results in education for international students, undergraduate students' admission to top universities, and other areas. She looks forward to innovating the talent development model and deepening cooperation and exchange with UTS in the future through active integration of bringing in and going out strategies.
Iain Watt expressed his heartfelt thanks for the warm reception from our university. He introduced UTS as a young and vibrant public comprehensive university that attaches great importance to cooperation and exchange with Chinese universities. This cooperation with Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) fills the gap in UTS's cooperation with universities in central China.
Liu Mian reviewed the history of UTS's exchange and cooperation with Chinese universities and affirmed the learning enthusiasm and personal qualities of Chinese students. He expressed that this visit to JUFE is an extension of the international cooperation network of UTS after cooperating and exchanging with universities in the northeastern and Shanghai regions, and looks forward to welcoming more outstanding JUFE students to study in the future.
Dr. Gong Meijun, the director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Dr. Lv Xiaomei, the dean of the International School, Dr. Fang Yuming, the dean of the Faculty of Information Management, and Dr. Zuo Yifan, a UTS alumnus from our university, actively exchanged views on topics such as Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, information science research cooperation, and international talent development.
After the meeting, on behalf of JUFE, vice President Liu Xiaoli signed the MOU and cooperation agreement with Iain Watt. After visiting the Museum of JUFE, the UTS delegation attended the Global Competence Enhancement Series Lecture hosted by the International School. Liu Mian delivered a speech on international talents cultivation and received enthusiastic response.
