Recently, the results of the 2022 Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) competition were announced, and the team composed of XiaoyaZhang from the School of Economics, ZiniYang from the School of Finance, and Mengjie Zong from the School of Information Management won the grand prize. There were 15,105 teams with more than 45,000 participants worldwide in this competition, and 23 grand prizes were awarded, the award rate of which is only 0.152%.This is the first grand prize that universities of Jiangxi Province has won.
The MCM is a global event that has a significant influence in mathematical modeling, which requires participants to complete a project within four days. The project of our Grand Prize-winning team was "Asset Trading Strategy Development", in which they used an ARIMA-LSTM model to predict asset trading prices and dynamic programming and genetic algorithms to build and change trading strategies and increase asset returns.
