JUFE Qualified for BGA Accreditation

​On April 22, the School of Business Administration received a formal congratulatory letter from the Business Graduates Association (BGA) in the United Kingdom, informing that JUFE has successfully passed the BGA international accreditation. JUFE therefore has joined the first batch of gold colleges and universities in mainland China to participate in the BGA independent international accreditation. This is also the first international business accreditation that JUFE has completed.

The online accreditation took place from February 24th to 28th, which was attended by Prof. Deng Hui, JUFE president, Prof. Liu Xiaoli and Prof. Yuan Honglin, JUFE vice presidents, Prof. Xiao Long, director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Prof. Luo Shihua, dean of the Graduate School, Prof. Ye Weihua, dean of the Overseas Education School, Prof. Zou Yanfen, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office, and all the leaders of the School of Business Administration, and etc. The accreditation panel includesProf. Andrew Lock, honorary dean of the Business School of Leeds University, UK and former chair of the International Accreditation Advisory Board of AMBA & BGA, Ms. Stephanie Villemagne, associate dean of IE Business School of IE University, Spain, Prof. Zhongming Wang, director of Global Entrepreneurship Research Centre in Zhejiang University and international adviser for China at AMBA & BGA, and Prof. Philip McLaughlin, former president of Kedge Business School, France.

Deng Hui welcomed the BGA accreditation panel, introduced the history and disciplinary development of JUFE, and emphasized JUFE's outstanding achievements in international education. He pointed out that the Continue Impact Model (CIM) of BGA Accreditation which follows the “Principles for Responsible Management Education” of the United Nations conforms to JUFE’s development concept. JUFE regards the indicators and standards of BGA accreditation as the direction of its efforts, and takes it as an important starting point for cultivating international talents. He also pointed out that the School of Business Administration has a solid foundation for international education and expressed hopes that the School could take the BGA accreditation as an opportunity to further optimize its top-level design and continue to improve the talent training model, programme development and curriculum system, etc.

In the feedback session, the accreditation panel first commended the work and achievements of JUFE and the School of Business Administration, and the positive feedback from the School's students and alumni in the questionnaire, then highly praised the school’s achievements in talent training and social services. The panel also provide recommendations for the continuous improvement of the school's strategy, faculty development, curriculum construction and other aspects.

The Business Graduates Association (BGA), founded in 1967, is an international membership and quality assurance body made up of world-leading, high-potential business schools which are committed to responsible management practices and lifelong learning, with a vision to bring positive impact on students, society and the entire economy. In 1983, the BGA established an accreditation program for MBAs, and in 1987 it was renamed AMBA. AMBA, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business(AACSB) and European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) are three international authoritative accreditation systems for global business schools. In 2018, BGA was established, adopting the latest international accreditation concepts and methods, focusing on promoting new business education in a wider range around the world, strengthening the impact and responsibility management practice of business education, and promoting lifelong learning concept.
