JUFE Signed Contract Online with Konkuk University of Korea

​Recently, the School of Economics of JUFE signed contract with the KU China Institute, Konkuk University in Korea. The online signing ceremony was attended by Park Sundo, Dean of the KU China Institute of  Konkuk University (KU) in Korea, Jin Xu, Director of East Asian Rural Revitalization Research Center of the KU China Institute, Li Tao, Dean of Wuchan Zhongda International School (WZIS), Prof. Xiao Long, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (OICE) of JUFE, Dean Zhang Liguo, Vice Dean Li Guomin of the School of Economics of JUFE, and presided over by Liu Xiaobing, Deputy Director of the OICE.  

After an introduction of  the internationalization of JUFE, Xiao Long stated that JUFE seeks to expand cooperation and partnership with universities worldwide and has established stable cooperation with more than 140 colleges and universities in over 40 countries and regions. She was confident that the signing would help to strengthen the collaboration between the two parties in fields including staff-student exchange and academic exchange, thereby achieving a win-win result.

Park Sundo introduced KU and the KU China Institute and shared that KU occupies a leading position in agricultural and life science research in Korea. The KU China Institute conducts research in the fields of China's economy, business, corporate management, culture, and scientific and technological environment. What’s more, it boasts a distinctive specialty in the field of China's business and commerce. He also expressed hopes that on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea next year, more international cooperation could be carried out with JUFE in strengthening rural revitalization research and talent training. 

Zhang Liguo introduced the School of Economics, and pointed out that the School has a teaching and research team with reasonable structure, outstanding ability, and fruitful results in the research of agriculturerural areasand rural residents issues and rural revitalization, whose research results have played a vital role in the development of agricultural economy and policy management innovation in Jiangxi Province and even the whole country. He also expressed hopes that the two universities could carry out in-depth cooperation in the areas of talent training, scientific research cooperation, teacher exchanges, and discipline construction in rural revitalization.

Jin Xu pointed out that South Korea’s rural construction started early and therefore is more experienced. At present, the Center is carrying out related research on rural revitalization in China, Japan, and South Korea, and hopes to broaden the channels of research cooperation and exchange for scholars from the three above countries. The signing was of great significance to the academic research and policy-making of both parties.

Finally, Li Tao delivered a speech. He said that as an institution set up in Hangzhou to carry out international talent training, it was an honor for WZIS to facilitate the cooperation between the two universities against a backdrop of the pandemic. In addition, he shared hopes that the cooperation could bring a lot of gains, and WZIS is willing to provide more help for future cooperation.

Founded in 1931, Konkuk University in South Korea is a private university located in Seoul and considered to be the most active university in academic exchanges with China. KU boasts 15 undergraduate teaching schools including economics, 6 research institutes including humanities and social sciences, and 105 research institutions.
