The Final of the 4th China Virtual Reality Competition Held at JUFE

​From October 17th to 18th, sponsored by China Computer Society, China Society of Image and Graphics, and China Simulation Society and hosted by JUFE, the final of the 4th China Virtual Reality Competition in 2021 was held. JUFE President Deng Hui, Vice President Yuan Honglin, Vice President Li Chungen and heads of Nanchang Virtual Reality Research Institute, Zhongrui Network, Zanqi Technology attended the opening ceremony, closing ceremony and award ceremony of the competition.

The competition, launched in May, began with provincial competitions. The Final was attended by 212 teams from 93 colleges and universities across the country, who participated through a combination of online and offline methods, and divided into production group and skill group (targeting vocational colleges). After a day’s fierce competition and expert review, a total of 69 first prizes, 48 second prizes, 90 third prizes, 120 excellent instructors, and 40 excellent organization units of the production group and a total of 17 first prizes, 31 second prizes, 37 third prizes, 48 outstanding instructors, and 19 outstanding organizational units of the skill group were announced. And JUFE has won 7 first prizes, 1 second prize, and 11 third prizes.

As the organizer of this competition, guided by the development of the VR industry, JUFE innovatively proposes the development model of VR Academy and has established the Virtual Reality (VR) Modern Industry College in September 2020. In addition, JUFE has established cooperation with VR head companies such as Huawei, NetEase, HTC, HIKVision, enterprises like China Mobile and China Unicom to comprehensively build a university-government-enterprise collaborative education model and a “undergraduate-master-doctor” talent training system with four training directions: intelligent multimedia, VR product development, VR product design, and VR design and management. In 2021, it has enrolled 40 postgraduate students and more than 1,100 undergraduates majoring in VR technology. Through this competition, the professionalism, skill levels of the students have been greatly improved.
