The delegation from University of Canterbury Visited JUFE
In the morning of October 31st, Simon Arnod, manager of Educational Institute of University of Canterbury (UC), Tony Baird, manager of International Projects of Educational Institute, and Joe CHIU, president of Tang Sheng Education Group visited JUFE. JUFE’s vice president Wang Xiaoping met the visitors and discussed the strengthening on two sides’ future cooperation together. The related staff of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (OICE) and International school also attended the meeting.
On behalf of JUFE, Wang Xiaoping warmly welcomed the coming of the guests and briefly made an introduction of JUFE. When reviewing the history of the exchange and cooperation between the two universities, he pointed out that the friendly cooperation has laid a good foundation for strengthening our exchange programs both on teachers and students.
The representatives of UC congratulated the achievements in the internationalization of JUFE in recent years, they hoped that the cooperation between two schools would achieve more fruitful results with the joint efforts of both sides. Both sides have reached a preliminary consensus on many cooperative programs, including the summer exchange program, joint doctoral-student training program, visiting scholar program and short-term teaching program in China, etc.
University of Canterbury has became an independent university since 1961, located in the province of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand's capital city. It is an famous research university with the second longest history in New Zealand. The University of Canterbury has seven faculties, arts, business, engineering, law, music and painting, science, forestry, which are divided into 38 departments. It has the first-established Engineering Institute and the biggest Educational Institute of the country, which make the university renowned in domestic and abroad. According to the world university rankings of 2017 QS , University of Canterbury ranked 214th, its civil engineering major and education major ranked 51st.
